Here, you'll find everything you need to excel in your job including outstanding facilities, comprehensive resources and talented teammates in partnering for healing and a healthy future.ResponsibilitiesProvideprenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum careto women and their newborns.Conductroutine gynecological exams, including Pap smears and breast exams.Offerfamily planning servicesand contraceptive counseling.Assist withlabor and delivery, including natural and medically assisted births.Monitor thehealth of mother and babyduring and after childbirth.Prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests as needed.Collaborate with OB-GYNs, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals.Educate patients onreproductive health, childbirth preparation, and newborn care.Maintain accurate and detailedmedical records.Advocate forholistic, patient-centered careand support maternal mental healthRequirementsRegistered Nurse (RN) licenseandAdvanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)license in Washington State.Successful completion of an American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM)-accredited nurse-midwifery programCurrent active certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board (or its predecessor, the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) Certification Council), or be actively seeking initial certification and obtain the same on the first examination for which he or she is eligibleClinical experience inobstetrics, gynecology, or women's health.Strong interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills.DEA, NPI & Prescriptive authorityCurrent BLS for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart AssociationAbout Auburn Medical CenterMultiCare Auburn Medical Center, serving South King County since 1921, is a 195-bed hospital with 58 behavioral health beds, a Family Birth Center, Level II NICU, Level III Trauma Center, MultiCare Regional Heart & Vascular Center, and advanced surgical services including robotic-assisted procedures.
