Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. _Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as a_ _S_ _r._ _Operations/Systems Engineer_ _based out of_ _Naval Base Kitsap u2013 Bangor, Silverdale, WA_ _._ _The position will interface with civilian government customers, associated DOD contractors, and the US Navy to provide on-site technical support during operational events._ _What Youu2019ll Get to Do_ _:_ + _Lead multifaceted teams on complex engineering projects supporting customer development programs and material performance and failure analysis._ + _Provide guidance and training to personnel on launcher subsystem functionality, operation, operating procedures, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair._ + _Provide guidance and training to personnel on associated Support Equipment, functionality, operation, operating procedures, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair._ + _Troubleshoot tactical launcher hardware and subsystems onboard naval submarines and associated launcher platforms._ + _Analyze equipment failures to determine cause and recommend corrective action. Review procedural documentation and drawings for accuracy and implementation._ + _Advise Operations Supervisor of problem areas and provide recommended solutions & corrective action._ + _Prepare status reports and daily log entries of tasks/tests/repairs accomplished._ + _Diversity in knowledge of technical disciplines (mechanical, electrical, materials, and systems engineering) and related Fleet Ballistic Missile/Strategic Weapons System experience is a plus._ + _Provide Field Support at the Explosive Handling Wharf(s) during ordnance handling events and launcher subsystem maintenance periods._ + _Support Trident Refit Facility Weapons Repair Shop during submarine refit periods._ + _Provide technical training and facility/equipment upkeep support at the Trident Training Facility._ + _Support SSGN Major Maintenance Periods and SSBN Extended Refit Periods._ + _Support Naval Magazine Indian Island during Tomahawk handling evolutions as an on-site technical representative._ + _Support Advanced Launcher Programs working with design teams and supporting field installation and test activities._ + _Qualified candidates should possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal_ + _This role requires occasional travel, estimated at approximately 10% of your time, to provide on-site technical support and other support as directed._ _u200bNOTE: This is not a remote opportunity and requires on-site presence._ _Basic Qualifications_ _Waterfront Operations Systems Engineer_ _:_ + _BS degree in Engineering, or related technical degree (STEM degree), with 8 years of_ related industry engineering _work experience; 6 years with a master's degree of_ related industry engineering _work experience._ + _Experience with analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and systems engineering approach/thinking and mindset_ + _Experience leading, training, and mentoring junior engineers_ + _Experience with multidisciplinary engineering teams_ + _Experience in direct contact with multiple customers and associated contractors_ + _Experience with accurate reporting, timely and consistent._ + _Experience implementing local and corporate safety policies_ + _A_ _bility to obtain DOD_ _Secret Clearance_ + _US Citizen_ _Preferred Qualifications_ _Waterfront Operations Systems Engineer_ _:_ + _Experience in the U.S. Navyu2019s Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Program as well as with the OHIO Class Trident II D5 Missile Strategic Weapon System (SWS), its Launcher Subsystem, and related Launcher Support Equipment_ + _Active Secret or Top Secret Clearance_ _What We Can Offer You_ _:_ _Northrop Grumman provides a comprehensive benefits package and a work environment that encourages your growth and supports the mutual success of our people and our company. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
