Patient Access Specialist

Description We are looking for a compassionate and detail-oriented Patient Access Specialist to join our team in Roanoke, Virginia. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring their experience is efficient and welcoming. This is a Contract to permanent position, offering the opportunity to grow within a dynamic healthcare environment. Responsibilities: u2022 Greet patients and visitors with professionalism and ensure their check-in process is smooth and efficient. u2022 Accurately register patients in the system, verifying insurance information and updating records as necessary. u2022 Schedule appointments, confirm bookings, and follow up to ensure patients are informed of their visits. u2022 Handle payment transactions, including collecting co-pays and reconciling daily balances. u2022 Collaborate with clinical staff and administrative teams to maintain seamless patient flow. u2022 Adhere to confidentiality standards and safeguard sensitive patient information. u2022 Provide prompt and empathetic assistance to address patient concerns, escalating complex issues to appropriate personnel when required. u2022 Maintain a well-organized workspace and ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date. Requirements u2022 Previous experience in patient registration, scheduling, or a similar role within a healthcare setting. u2022 Strong familiarity with medical insurance verification processes. u2022 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and staff. u2022 Proficiency in using healthcare-related software and systems. u2022 Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. u2022 Knowledge of patient privacy regulations and adherence to confidentiality protocols. u2022 High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in healthcare administration is a plus.
