Senior Application Engineer

Eatonu2019s GEIS division is currently seeking a Senior Application Engineer. What youu2019ll do: The Cable Bus Application Engineer will support the Engineering Services team by providing product application and technical assistance for the B-Line division cable bus product line. Crucial to the success of the team and the business, the ability to produce precise technical drawings for manufacturing and assembly, while optimizing designs to meet performance standards and regulatory requirements is critical. The role will be to work with various aspects of the organization from marketing and sales to engineering and directly interact with outside customers. u2022 Design cable bus layouts with support structures, that comply with industry standards (CSA/NEC/CE), including calculating cable ampacity and trench design. u2022 Produce precise technical drawings for cable bus layouts and installation, while optimizing cable bus configurations to meet performance standards and regulatory requirements. u2022 Prepare comprehensive design documentation, including specifications, bills of materials (BOMs), and installation instructions. u2022 Assist in the preparation of proposals, engineering/project cost estimates, and execution schedules u2022 Develop innovative solutions for cable bus design challenges, such as optimizing cable layout for reduced conductor count and efficient thermal management. u2022 Offer technical support and expertise to project teams during installation and commissioning of cable bus systems. u2022 Create and conduct cable bus product training for the sales force, customer service and customer. u2022 Collaborate with engineers and team members to conceptualize, design, and prototype new products and components for cable bus product family. u2022 Utilize technical knowledge of production processes, product testing, and industry standards and review changes/updates for effects to product applications. u2022 Support cable bus product line managers with creation of presentation materials, application letters, and other documentation as needed. Skills: Required Qualifications: u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering u2022 Minimum 3 years in design for power distribution (i.e. cable bus, cable tray, enclosures, switchgear) + Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1, H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, 1-485 job profitability, etc. Preferred Qualifications: u2022 Experience in the power generation and data center industries u2022 Knowledge of various types of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection equipment u2022 Experience in a manufacturing/production environment with understanding of materials and processes. u2022 Strong understanding of CSA standard C22.2 No. 273:19, NEC, and CE standards. u2022 Ability to read architectural, structural and electrical drawings with minimal supervision. u2022 Solidworks (or equivalent CAD) proficiency u2022 Excellent oral, interpersonal, and written skills with the ability to effectively communicate. Must be able to effectively interface with engineering and customers on a variety of technical issues. u2022 Very detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy. u2022 Ability to operate as an individual contributor as well as a team member.
