Job Title: Quality Engineering TechnicianJob Description The Quality Engineering Technician is responsible for providing effective written and verbal communication to both internal and external groups regarding dimensional information and issues that require resolution. This role involves gathering and managing part information from Digital Engineering systems and drawings, analyzing part/sub-assembly dimensional data, and providing feedback to the Project Leader and Management. The technician will also perform equipment, tool, and part confirmation using various measurement tools and engage in travel across North America, including Canada, Mexico, and Japan. Responsibilities + Provide effective communication regarding dimensional information and issues. + Gather and manage part information from Digital Engineering systems and drawings. + Analyze part/sub-assembly dimensional data and provide feedback to Project Leader and Management. + Perform equipment/tool/part confirmation using Vectorarm, FARO Arm, FARO Laser Tracker, check fixtures, weld tooling/equipment measurements, and part fitting activities. + Engage in travel throughout North America and internationally to Canada and Japan. + Work overtime, including weekends and holidays, as necessary. + Check and confirm body weld jigs, tools, pallets, parts, and assemblies to meet quality targets for new model launches. + Prepare, troubleshoot, and confirm new tooling/equipment, parts, and sub-assemblies at various vendor locations. + Support weld and tool quality confirmation activities from installation through SOP. + Create detailed daily plans, Project Task Reports, Problem Follow Sheets, track activity status, coordinate safety communications, and support communication with the Project Leader and Management. Essential Skills + Proficient in Digital Engineering tools including CATIA, SOLIDWORKS, Inventor, and AutoCAD. + Ability to review and interpret part/machine/tool/equipment drawings in 2D/3D. + Proficient in quality measurement tools and techniques. + Associates Degree or higher in a Technical field. + Automotive Body Dimensional Quality experience. + Basic robot teaching skills. + Experience in mentoring and training. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Project management experience. + Experience in the automotive industry. + Flexibility in travel and work hours. + Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Work Environment The work environment is dynamic and involves frequent travel, including international locations such as Canada and Japan. The role may require overtime work, including weekends and holidays, to meet project deadlines. The company offers a flexible schedule with the possibility of rotating weeks to maintain work-life balance. Consultants receive 10 PTO days and 9 paid holidays per year, with overtime compensated at time and a half. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $36.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
