Senior Welder - TIG Welding

Job Description Insight Global is hiring a Senior Welder skilled in TIG/GTAW welding specifically to join our client in building the next generation steam turbines and propulsion engines. If you have TIG welding experience and knowledge of ASME IX and MIL-STD codes, then this role will be perfect for you. This position is on the 2nd shift which is 3:00pm-11:00pm. This is a Direct Hire position with benefits, PTO, and a salary with some overtime available. Responsibilities include: -u2003Read and interpret detailed part and tool drawings -u2003Select all tools, fixtures and related equipment. -u2003Prepare all surfaces, assemble, and position parts, as required, to be welded, also including layout, assembly, and fabrication to drawing requirements -u2003Assemble components or assemblies to positioners. -u2003Set up required welding and brazing equipment -u2003Verify process specifications follow prescribed procedures and perform assigned operations in all positions, as certified -u2003Remove slag, chip, grind, visible defects before depositing subsequent passes. Document metal joining sequences as required -u2003Grind and prepare surfaces for nondestructive examinations, and perform magna flux or penetrant testing. -u2003Operate ovens for pre-heating, post weld heat treatment, or stress relief as required per specifications -u2003Use crane or lifting devices for heavier components. -u2003Complete weld certification testing in a timely manner to meet code, process, or base metal requirements to satisfy customer orders -u2003Maintain filler metal storage and traceability per requirements -u2003Perform routine machine and equipment checks. -u2003Maintain cleanliness, lubrication and fluid levels, and perform simple machine error recovery -u2003Observe all safety and hygiene requirements as specified and directed. The salary range for this position ranges from $62,000 - $83,000 ($30-40 per hour) depending on experience.
