Overview:A recognized leader and licensed Architect who is responsible for envisioning, designing and delivering exceptional projects for clients. Possesses strong communication skills, a flexible attitude, ability to solve problems creatively and ability to foster and manage effective client relationships. Responsible for high-impact decisions. Provides technical leadership and acts as an advisor on projects. Endorses the firm's values by personally influencing client service, innovation and communication. Acts as subject matter expert for technical solutions.Responsibilities:Leads team and other Project Architects in planning work and developing solutions to technical and design detail problemsCollaborates with PIC/PM in defining project work plans and developing and managing the production schedule, including effectively defining and meeting deadlinesLeads the creation and modification of complex detailed implementation documents to incorporate the design intent, using diverse knowledge of architecture principles and practices and advanced techniquesLeads development of code analysis and confirms code and zoning requirements for assigned segment of project are metSupervises the preparation of documents by architectural team, including verifying implementation documents conform to QA/QC and HKS standards, best practice and quality expectationsManages the technical resolution and coordination for the projectWrites reports or specifications for assigned projectPrepares client presentations and presents design concepts and drawingsMaintains open communication with client and provides guidance through projectsCoordinates with PM, clients, public agencies, consultants and contractors to incorporate engineering systems, respond to requests for information, clarifications and modifications, and obtain approvals, negotiations and adjusting scope of servicesCommunicates with client representatives to verify design requirements and specifications, progress reviews and delivery of final presentationExercises skills of persuasion and negotiation on critical issuesOversees consultant team work sessionsOversees product research; assists project designers with material and system evaluation to make proper selectionsMaintains awareness of risk management for potential project issues and involves PIC/PM if neededParticipates in team meetings to discuss project issues, technical issues and coordination with other disciplinesAttends on-site visits, field reviews and project meetings and documents as neededResponsible for preparing and/or reviewing meeting minutes for consultant coordination meetingsTravel will be requiredQualifications:Education and ExperienceAccredited professional degree in ArchitectureTypically 15+ years of experienceLicenses and CertificationsArchitectural Registration requiredSustainable design accreditation preferredKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAdvanced - expert-level experience, knowledge or skillsIntermediate - experience, knowledge or skills required to produce high-quality solutions or workBasic - familiar with primary concepts or capabilities and may perform elementary functions depending on roleAdvanced skills in Revit, Navisworks and Bluebeam requiredIntermediate skills in Rhino, Grasshopper, Dynamo, Twinmotion, Enscape or other visualization tools requiredIntermediate skills in Illustrator and InDesign required; basic skills in Photoshop requiredAdvanced skills in MS Office Suite requiredAdvanced knowledge of sustainability and integrated design guidelines requiredAdvanced knowledge of materials, construction techniques, architectural building systems, building codes, accessibility guidelines and QA/QC process requiredAdvanced ability to research and apply/incorporate into implementation documents required
