Become a part of our caring community and help us put health first The Cardiac Sonographer performs and monitors echocardiogram procedures. Calculates, measures, and documents appropriate values on the tests performed for review and interpretation by providers. Communicates with others, such as physicians, Cardiologists, and colleagues, as appropriate, regarding changes in patient's clinical conditions while undergoing echocardiogram. Responsible for equipment maintenance, reporting equipment malfunctions and quality assessment. The Cardiac Sonographer operates assumes ownership and leads advanced and highly specialized administrative/operational/patient support duties that require independent initiative and judgment. This position will be based out of two clinics, spending approximately 50% in the Conviva Goliad Clinic, and 50% in the Conviva Marbach clinic . Note: Mileage is reimbursed for travel between clinics. The Cardiac Sonographer performs diagnostic imaging procedures independently, ensuring accurate results and high-quality patient care. This role requires strong clinical judgment, technical expertise, and a commitment to maintaining professional standards and ethical practices. Key responsibilities: u2022 Perform high-quality 2D echocardiograms with color flow Doppler within 45 minutes, using sound clinical judgment and adhering to established protocols. u2022 Demonstrate effective communication, both verbal and written, with physicians, cardiologists, nurses, sonographers, and other healthcare professionals. u2022 Conduct patient assessments, explain the purpose of echocardiographic and/or vascular ultrasound procedures, and address patient questions with professionalism and empathy. u2022 Apply cognitive skills to identify, adapt, and differentiate between normal and pathological findings during exams. u2022 Prepare exam rooms, verify patient identity, and follow infection control procedures, including Standard Precautions. u2022 Evaluate requisitions or medical records to ensure appropriate patient preparation and procedural accuracy. u2022 Maintain compliance with patient confidentiality laws, privacy regulations, and ethical standards. u2022 Maintain current ARDMS and/or CCI certifications in adult echocardiography and Basic Life Support (BLS). u2022 Demonstrate sound judgment in the use of echo contrast agents. u2022 Maintain ultrasound equipment and supplies; promptly report malfunctions and support lab accreditation efforts. u2022 Coordinate schedules to ensure efficient workflow and coverage. u2022 Provide in-service education to staff as requested and perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications u2022 Certification in Echocardiography (ARDMS and/or CCI) and demonstrated experience performing vascular studies u2022 Completion of an accredited Ultrasound Technology program u2022 Certified Ultrasound Technician (or equivalent) with 1+ years of experience in a diagnostic facility or hospital (new graduates with strong clinical training and eagerness to learn are welcome) u2022 Solid understanding of ultrasound equipment, techniques, and diagnostic protocols u2022 Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification u2022 Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-based environment u2022 Willingness to travel between two Conviva Clinic locations (within a 45-minute radius) u2022 TB screening required upon selection ________________________________________ Preferred Qualifications u2022 Vascular certification u2022 Proficiency in both vascular and echocardiographic imaging u2022 Experience using Microsoft Outlook and basic computer applications u2022 Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred but not required) Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Pay Range The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc. $77,900 - $106,300 per year This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan.
