General Responsibilities: u00b7 Conduct Phase II Environmental Site Assessments and Limited Site Investigations to determine presence/absence of contamination in soil, groundwater, soil vapor, surface water, and sediment. u00b7 Identify, develop, and gather the resources to complete the project. This may include preparing calculations, designs, reports, and work specifications; developing project schedules, budgets, and forecasts; and selecting materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractors. u00b7 Conduct groundwater monitoring at permitted sites. u00b7 Log and classify soil following standard practices and methods. u00b7 Conduct geologic field mapping. u00b7 Evaluate and interpret subsurface field and sampling data including soil and groundwater to develop conclusions concerning the environmental and geologic site conditions. u00b7 Generate subsurface maps and cross-sections and collaborate with environmental/engineering staff on projects. u00b7 Prepare written plans and reports related to site investigation and remediation activities. u00b7 Participate in client meetings under the direct supervision of the Project Manager and/or Department Manager. u00b7 Partner with other departments or offices to secure specialized resources for the project. u00b7 Coordinate with Senior Staff to ensure appropriate oversight is in place and sufficient time allowed for reviews of all critical junctures. u00b7 Coordinate with accounting for financial management of business intelligence, invoicing, and collections. Essential Roles and Responsibilities: u00b7 Follow safety rules, guidelines, and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning activities. u00b7 Maintain quality standards on tasks performed and prepared deliverables. u00b7 Perform site visits, field observations, and field data collection or assignments. u00b7 Assist in the collection and analysis of data from sampling, reports, maps, drawings, tests, and aerial photographs to evaluate, plan, and permit projects. u00b7 Conduct water, soil, and other sampling. u00b7 Implement technical requirements to complete client projects by directing field staff to sample, test, and collect data and/or document site activities. u00b7 Outline required investigative program(s) by selecting the proper alternative techniques to conduct site studies in field of expertise. Requirements: u00b7 Bacheloru2019s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or similar field. (Master's degree preferred) u00b7 Minimum of 3+ years of related experience. u00b7 Valid driveru2019s license with acceptable violation history. u00b7 This Staff Geologist position is combination of field work and in-office work. Preferred Certification/Experience: u00b7 Geologist-in-Training or Professional Geoscientist licensed in Texas, or the ability to obtain within 12 months of onboarding. u00b7 40-hour HAZWOPER certification. u00b7 Geographic information systems (GIS) u00b7 Microsoft Excel and Word. u00b7 Working knowledge of RCRA, TRRP, and PST regulations in Texas. u00b7 Working knowledge of TCEQ landfills rules such as Subchapter T. u00b7 Documented success with TCEQ reports (such as APARs, RDRs, and ARFs) and closures under TCEQ programs such as the PST, TRRP, IOP, and VCP.
