Description POSITION PURPOSE The Food Coordinator is responsible for food preparation, cooking, food distribution, nutritional analysis and quality assurance of food programs & meals. They oversee all Kroc Center activities that involve food. They oversee kitchen use & safety, and food stats for the Community Center. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES u00b7 Manage programs that address food insecurity, nutrition education, and cooking. u00b7 Maintain food inventory, manage budget, monthly statistics, and menu creation for Kroc Center programs that involve food. u00b7 Oversee Kroc Center kitchen (all appliances, safety signs, and all cleaning and cooking materials) u00b7 Greet and engage guests ensuring they feel welcomed and have a positive experience. u00b7 Maintain Kroc Center food initiatives that address the needs of the community and guest base. u00b7 Collaborate with food banks and oversee onsite food pantry and storages. u00b7 Provide food preparation and service for Kroc Center Programs, Events and Rentals. u00b7 Drive, pick-up, sort, store, and distribute food donations. u00b7 Maintain cleanliness of facility and conduct all mandatory safety checks (including prepping for weekends) u00b7 Ensure that food events, programs, and activities begin, transition, and end on time. u00b7 Responsible for training team members and volunteers in food safety protocol and kitchen usage. u00b7 Attend meetings as they pertain to food insecurity programs. u00b7 Assist Kroc Center team with accurate and detailed work order and incident reports, as well as policies and procedures. u00b7 Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS u00b7 High School Diploma or GED equivalency. u00b7 Must have a u201cCalifornia Food Manageru2019su201d certification. u00b7 Must have a current valid driveru2019s license and pass the Salvation Army Motor Vehicle Record check (MVR) and driveru2019s test. u00b7 Must have excellent customer service skills in-person, over the phone, and through digital communication. u00b7 Must be able to lead and train team members and volunteers in food service and safety protocols. u00b7 Must be computer literate with proficient typing skills and the ability to use new software programs with basic training. u00b7 Able to perform job functions with a proactive mindset, good organization, attention to detail, fine judgement, speed, accuracy, and poise. u00b7 Self-motivated, energetic, enthusiastic, and able to maintain a self-directed schedule. u00b7 Must be comfortable and knowledgeable in engaging with a multi-cultural guest base. u00b7 Bilingual in Spanish, Arabic, Cantonese/Mandarin, or Vietnamese (preferred) u00b7 Complete Salvation Army assigned training and keep current as needed.
