Schedule: PRN Shift: Day (United States of America) Address: 601 E ROLLINS ST City: ORLANDO State: Florida Postal Code: 32803 Job Description: Shift Information: 6:30am to 7:00 pm Actual Location - 3355 E Semoran Blvd, Apopka 32703 Responsible for performing routine respiratory care procedures for neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients per hospital needs. This position initiates and maintains appropriate therapy, including life support techniques and equipment. This role provides preventive, supportive, and corrective interventions related to the cardiopulmonary system in assigned patient care areas. In addition, this position applies knowledge and skills necessary for appropriate interactions with staff, patients, and families. Additionally, this role demonstrates and maintains minimum competency in all applicable clinical skills. + Documents and charges for procedures accurately and completely. + Demonstrates collaboration and teamwork in assisting with patient flow. + Practices standard precautions and enforces safety regulations according to hospital policies. + Interprets evaluations and test results to determine appropriate treatment plans in consultation with interdisciplinary healthcare team. + Responds to all Code Blue emergencies immediately providing CPR according to the American Heart Association and performs other duties as directed. + Performs respiratory and oxygen delivery therapies and makes recommendations to the most efficient delivery method per protocol. + Obtains, analyzes and reports findings of arterial blood gases and co-oximetry; performs quality controls as needed. + Performs airway maintenance including: proper use of manual resuscitators, oral and nasal pharyngeal airway insertion, and airway suctioning. + Initiates, maintains, transports, and monitors mechanical ventilators to include basic conventional modes of ventilation per policy and procedure. + Utilizes patient assessment skills, protocols, chart review, and confers with multidisciplinary team to determine efficacy of therapy in a cost and time efficient manner making appropriate recommendations and changes per department protocol. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: u2022 Patient care skills to care for neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations per hospital needs.
