The Sr. Manager IT Business systems will be part of the IT NA services team tasked with strategically planning, implementing, optimizing, and ensuring reliable performance of Trimble LIMS fiber operating system and associated forestry and recycle fiber technologies throughout the North America operations. Acting as a vital part of the digital transformation journey, this role involves close collaboration with Fiber business function, IT Applications, IT Engineering, strategic vendor partners, ERP, Finance and operational technology teams to deliver IT Solutions, improve process, maintain operational efficiency, maintain IT Service standards and ensure IT regulatory & audit compliance. The Sr. Manager IT Business systems will function as a strategic problem solver, working closely with business counterparts while managing and collaborating with team members to understand organizational and operational challenges and deliver technology solutions in a cost-effective way. The role will implement new IT solutions, enhancements, maintenance from initial idea to the project completion and handles both project and budget management. Keep up to date on the latest technological innovations, AI, ML connected to Fiber and Supply chain technology stack while supporting Fiber operational requirements and strategic business initiatives as we implement additional functionality and expand application roadmap. Smurfit Westrock utilizes Trimble LIMS platform for sourcing, scale management, receiving and finance operations within NA fiber supply chain operations. This position is managed by the Fiber IT application team. Based on the strategic objectives and priorities set by Fiber Business function and overall Corporate IT and organizationu2019s strategy, this role interacts with Business Process Owners & IT Community to develop and implement solutions as business requirements and priorities are established. Manage overall day-to-day management of LIMS Operations, lead end-to-end LIMS and related technology software development and implementation lifecycle including discovery, blueprinting, solution delivery, production support while managing and maintaining service metrics as per organizationu2019s standards and requirements. How you will impact Smurfit Westrock: Partner with business and IT stakeholders to drive innovation, day-to-day management, enhancements, production support management and roadmap expansion for business functions leveraging LIMS and related technologies. Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner by interpreting business requirements to shape future processes and address operational challenges, thereby ensuring optimal system performance, enhanced user experience, and maximized business value. Responsible for defining and implementing technology strategies within Forestry and Fiber operations and within order to cash & source to pay processes. Establish and nurture robust, collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders throughout the NA Supply chain operations, Fiber operations, IT, and other pertinent departments to ensure clear communication and enhance teamwork. Oversee the provision of LIMS technical services, including system implementation, configuration, testing, ongoing maintenance, reliability issue resolution, interface management, and reporting. Define, implement, and promote processes, best practices and standards for application development and deployment including service-oriented architecture, reusable code, web usability, user experience, security controls. Manage all aspects of IT Fiber LIMS operations from prioritization of work, people management, career development and training needs. Ensure seamless, reliable data flow and integration between the LIMS layer, ERP, manufacturing & shop floor interfaces, financial systems for AP processes, custom and standard applications. Maintain continuous reliability and optimal performance of essential LIMS and related fiber applications by implementing comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity strategies. Oversee relationships and contractual agreements with principal LIMS and related software vendors and implementation partners. Enforce data governance policies to ensure the integrity and accuracy of production, quality, and performance data used for reporting and decision-making. Technical Skills: Superior knowledge of SQL Programming/development experience (Python, Java, C#, C++, etc.) LIMS functional experience along with implementations, upgrade required. LIMS, end-to-end business process knowledge required. Source to Pay, Order to Cash, domestic & export operations workflow Invoicing and Accounts Payable, Accruals, Allocation knowledge required Experience/Knowledge working with IT middleware systems is preferred. Excels in analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making. Facilitates and supports effective action, while diligently monitoring progress to ensure superior execution. Maintains superior organizational skills by prioritizing tasks, ensuring attention to detail, and meeting time constraints. Demonstrates a strong sense of initiative and consistently performs duties effectively with limited oversight. Skills-Knowledge desired. Bachelors degree or minimum equivalent work experience of 10 years in IT, LIMS application implementation, upgrade, support, and ERP technology operations. Ability to travel approximately 10%. 5-7 years or more - Implementing and managing fiber or similar business process applications in the paper Industry or related large manufacturing end-to-end supply chain processes. 5-7 years or more - Technical experience in progressive accomplishments in implementations, upgrades, support for LIMS, and related technology enabled solutions to complex business problems in an end-to-end ERP solution setting. 2 years or more - team management and people management skills needed. 2+ years or more - Business relationship management skills, stakeholder engagement, prioritization, effective communication, technology transformation and ability to explain in simple terms, service request portfolio management, develop business capability roadmap, enable digital transformation. Experience leading application projects as a project manager, delivery manager. Understanding Office 365 suite and related collaboration, communication tools. Effective verbal and written communication Possess a strong sense of ownership, urgency, flexibility, adaptability and drive. Experience integrating various software products related to the 3Log software suite and other software products such as Web Methods, MuleSoft, JDE, Power BI, Qlik, PaaS and SaaS architectures. Experience and knowledge of Supply Chain, Logistics end-to-end processes Experience working with or configuring external user access associated with extranet Web Portal technology. Working knowledge of software development life cycle, break fix, demand intake, enhancement and maintenance processes. Working knowledge of ServiceNow or related tools associated to demand intake, break fix, project management and financial tracking.
