Founded in 2004, HX5 is a fast-growing veteran- and woman-owned company with locations nationwide.HX5 is currently seeking a System Administrator (Storage Focused) support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract.u00a0Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Troubleshoot, patch, and sustain Linux and Windows based physical and virtual machines in a hybrid, high-performance computing (HPC) environment.- Administer and maintain enterprise-level storage solutions (e.g., NetApp, Pure Storage, Dell ECS) and backup systems such as Commvault.- Manage and administer virtualization environments, primarily using VMware.- Conduct daily system monitoring, system backups, and application upgrades to ensure optimal and continuous system operations.- Support network, system, and cybersecurity engineers to provide high-quality engineering services to the Government customer.- Manage system software installations, break/fix activities, and cybersecurity mitigations in accordance with established policies and procedures.- Manage and maintain task assignments by updating task tracking software with work notes, blockers, status, etc.- Manage user accounts and access to systems and equipment.The successful candidate will:- Be a strong innovator in process improvement and system design.- Be able to quickly learn challenging concepts, decompose difficult software problems and provide resolution.- Effectively function as self-starter and identify risks, issues, and opportunities to the team lead.- Be able to work individually or as a member of a team.- Be able to work effectively under pressure.- Have excellent communication skills (oral and written) and customer service skills.- Have a positive,
