This job has an exam requirement. Currently, applicants for this postingwho do not yet have an exam score are being invited to take the exam.Examining will continue until capacity has been reached. DRIVINGREQUIRED: Applicants must have a valid state driver?s license, a safedriving record, and at least two years of unsupervised experiencedriving passenger cars or larger. The driving must have taken place inthe U.S. or its possessions or territories or in U.S. militaryinstallations worldwide. Must be able to communicate in and understandthe English language with or without a reasonable disabilityaccommodation under the Rehabilitation Act. Thissection is composed of the Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities which arerequired to satisfactorily perform the tasks of the position. Knowledgeof electrical/ignition systems refers to the terminologycharacteristics, and operation of such components as alternators,batteries, voltage regulators, starter motors, ignition and lightingsystems, indicating devices, electronic computer enhanced components,sensors, and starting aids. Knowledge of automotive fuel systems refersto the terminology, characteristics, and operation of fuel deliverysystems, and related assemblies, such as fuel pumps, turbochargers,superchargers, inter- coolers, fuel injectors, and the interface of thefuel system with electronic controls. Knowledge of automotive emissioncontrol systems refers to the terminology characteristics, and operationof emission control systems as they relate to overall engine operationand performance specifications and conformance to environmental qualityregulations. Knowledge of engine systems refers to the terminology,characteristics, and operation of engine valves, piston assemblies,engine bearings, cylinders, cylinder heads, cylinder blocks, crankshaftassemblies, compression ignition, and cooling system. Knowledge ofautomotive power train systems refers to the terminology,characteristics, and operation of such components as clutches, universaljoints, manual and computer enhanced automatic transmission systems,differentials, and drive axles.
