Director of Golf

Compass Pointe Golf Courses is looking for a passionate and strategic Director of Golf to oversee daily operations and drive exceptional member and guest pass Pointe Golf Courses - located midway between Baltimore and Annapolis, right in the heart of Anne Arundel County - is a premier 36-hole public golf facility. Compass Pointe offers an enjoyable experience at an affordable price. The 36-holes of championship caliber golf were designed by award-winning architect Lindsay Ervin.Position Summary:The Director of Golf is a key member of the golf operations team at Compass Pointe Golf Courses and is directly responsible for managing all golf operations activities at the facility. Compass is a 36-hole facility with approximately 77,000 annual rounds. This includes five course run leagues as well as over 11,000 outing rounds. Position Responsibilities:Plans, promotes and directs all golf activities including management responsibilities on a daily basisDevelops, implement and review programming for facility. This includes but not limited to in-house events, couple's night, nine and wine, league events, pass holder events, golf specials and demo daysWork closing with the golf operations staff to ensure Troon and Compass Pointe standards are being followedManage the tee sheet on a daily basis to ensure maximum utilizationReview programming, pricing and conditions for competitors in the marketMaintains an attractive and orderly appearance in the golf shopPurchasing merchandise for the golf shop in accordance with Troon standardsManage the six weekly leagues played at the facility. Includes creating schedules, updating results, distributing prizes and sending weekly emailManage the outing/event process after it is sold. This includes but not limited to meeting with coordinators, updating worksheets, meetings with team members, ordering merchandise, invoicing clients, updating tee sheet and ensuring payment is received.Assist in updating and posting the courses social media pagesInterprets and imposes club policies, rules and regulationsHire, trains, and supervises golf shop staff and outside services staffConducts staff meetings with pro shop staff and outside services staff to ensure facility goals, objectives and standards are being metCreates annual budget plan for golf operationsManages inventory of merchandise in the pro shop and the outside service equipmentDirects and promotes golf operation safety programPerform other duties as assignedQualifications and Requirements:PGA Membership or PGA registered apprentice in good standing is preferredCollege Degree (PGM) preferredMust have 3-5 years golf industry experienceMust have experience in golf operations management and a demonstrated ability to run a professional, efficient, high quality, service-oriented golf operationMust have knowledge of budgeting and expense managementExperience conducting golf outings/eventsExperience developing, running and managing leaguesSkills:Must have strong computer skills- Word, Excel, POS and Tee Sheet ManagementMust have skill to exercise good independent judgment in assessing situations and making decisionsMust have the ability to hire and develop a motivated golf staffMust be highly organized, efficient and detail-orientedMust have strong communication and interpersonal skillsMust have strong customer/guest skillsMust have solid supervisory and leadership skillsCompensation:Compensation will include base salary between $60,000-$70,000 (based on experience) and 75% of lessons.
