Job Title: Database Administrator u2013 Microsoft SQL Job Category: Information Technology Time Type: Full time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: None Employee Type: Regular Percentage of Travel Required: None Type of Travel: None The Opportunity: We are looking for a talented and experienced Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator to join an IT operations project, Hosting Services team, to support DHS USCIS. The candidate will provide support for large enterprises in an agile environment. Candidate will be responsible for high volume transactional databases hosted on-premises and in the cloud. This position works under the general guidance of the Lead Database Administrator/engineer and Hosting Services Task Lead, in an Agile environment. DevSecOps fast-paced, rapidly changing, collaborative environment, and requires strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, strong critical thinking, complex problem solving, appropriate judgment, and decision-making skills. Responsibilities: u00b7 Design strategies for enterprise database systems and set standards for operations, programming, and security. u00b7 Design and construct large relational databases. Integrate new systems with existing warehouse structure and refine system performance and functionality u00b7 Admiration of MS SQL Server Databases supporting high volume transactional databases u00b7 Performing updates to versions and upgrade to SQL Server Databases and Database Servers u00b7 Develop T-SQL and automation scripts for performing database management tasks. u00b7 Help the Task Lead and Project managers in planning. Work with program and technical staff in all aspects of daily work u00b7 Fully engaged in the implementation of a DevOps practices for supporting IT u00b7 Responsible for operational availability of all the systems hosted on the infrastructure u00b7 Support information assurance process in a technical role by complying with technical controls, technical checklists etc. u00b7 Assist and mentor junior members on the team Qualifications: _Required:_ u00b7 Bacheloru2019s Degree and 8 years prior relevant experience, additional years of experience in lieu of degree u00b7 8 yearsu2019 experience with MS SQL Server systems administration support for large-scale environments. u00b7 8 yearsu2019 experience installing and configuring SQL Server version that includes 2008, 2012, 2016 databases u00b7 8 yearsu2019 experience writing scripts with a scripting language and .Net coding to support SQL u00b7 Experience and knowledge of SQL Server components such as SSIS and SSRS u00b7 Experience in backup restore of mission-critical application databases u00b7 Experience with SQL server on VMs u00b7 Minimum of 2 yearsu2019 experience on premise to AWS migrations u00b7 Working knowledge of data base backup and restore u00b7 Experienced in AWS, AZURE, Google Cloud Services, and other Cloud environments u00b7 Familiarity with Agile, DevOps practices and ITIL processes _Desired:_ u00b7 US Citizen with DHS Public Trust suitability clearance/EOD u00b7 Experience with any DHS agencies or entities Conditions u00b7 _Candidate must be an US citizen, and able to obtain DHS Public Trust clearance and USCIS EOD to start work_ This position is contingent on funding and may not be filled immediately. Pay Range : There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
