Adjunct Faculty - Cardiovascular TechnologyDepartment: Allied HealthLocation: Grand Rapids, MIGrand Rapids Community College department of Allied Health is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Adjunct Instructor to teach class(es) in the fall and/or winter semesters on our Grand Rapids campus. This adjunct position will teach asynchronously online.The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a commitment to student success, ensuring a high-quality learning experience for all students.Adjunct needs are determined on a semester by semester basis, as are the number of sections offered each semester. This position requires a high degree of knowledge and experience working in the interventional cardiac catheterization lab, a high degree of professionalism while working with students, the public, clinical partners, faculty, and staff.u2022 Ability to explain cardiovascular diagnostic and interventional procedures and equipment clearly and answer questions from students related to these topics.u2022 Respond to student inquiries via email about course topics, schedule, and alternative information for understanding subject matter.u2022 Construct assignments and administer quizzes and exams through Canvas Learning Management System.u2022 Organization and demonstration of in person lab instruction of sterility measures, PPE, and introduction to diagnostic procedures and equipment.u2022 Use of web based programs, such as Google Docs, Google Slides, YouTube, etc. for creating course content.u2022 Create and consistently update PowerPoint slides for lectures based on course material.u2022 Record lectures using in-browser technology powered by Panopto.u2022 Teach courses and fulfill adjunct faculty responsibilities, including fostering a stimulating classroom environment, following syllabus templates, and using department-approved textbooks.u2022 Maintain accurate student records and provide reasonable accommodations as per ADA guidelines as approved by Disability Support Services to meet students needs.u2022 Respond to communications promptly and ensure student access to course information.u2022 Perform tasks normally expected of adjunct faculty membersu2022 Follow the required syllabus template.u2022 Comply with GRCC policies and the Faculty Association Contract.JOB SPECIFICATIONSQualificationsu2022 Graduation from a Cardiovascular Technologist degree program required. Bachelor's degree or higher in a health related field preferred.u2022 Minimum 2 years experience working in an interventional catheterization lab settingu2022 RCIS and/or ARRT certification required.Skillsu2022 Expertise in the subject area with strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.u2022 Ability to work with diverse student populations and faculty, and proficiency in instructional tech
