Peer Support Specialist Wage: $23/hr. plus $300 Sign-on BonusPosition Summary:The Peer Support Specialist uses real life experience with mental health, behavioral health, and/or substance use disorders to provide support, mentoring, advocacy, and hope to individuals in recovery. This role promotes recovery-oriented services, self-sufficiency, and community integration while working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary treatment team.The Peer Support Specialist assists individuals in the least restrictive setting possible, helping them build skills, prevent relapse, and strengthen community connections.Essential Responsibilitiesu2022 Use personal recovery experience to provide mentoring, guidance, emotional support, and advocacy to individuals with behavioral health and/or substance use disordersu2022 Promote hope, self-determination, and recovery-focused goalsu2022 Foster a team culture that respects individual preferences, perspectives, and strengthsu2022 Assist clients with problem-solving, mediation, relapse prevention, brief respite, and community stabilizationu2022 Support skill development to enhance independence and long-term recoveryu2022 Provide one-on-one peer support and help create a sense of belonging and communityu2022 Facilitate access to community resources, services, and recreational opportunitiesu2022 Provide transportation for client outings and resource connections using a personal vehicleu2022 Communicate emotional and behavioral observations to the treatment teamu2022 Participate in weekly staffing meetings and contribute ideas to support client growthu2022 Complete all required documentation, including DAP notes, in compliance with state and organizational standardsu2022 Maintain assigned caseload and meet billing expectations on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basisu2022 Collaborate closely with the treatment team to support client goals, activities, and treatment plansu2022 Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Outpatient Services and New Day, Inc. administrationRequired Qualificationsu2022 Must meet Montana Department of Labor and Industry licensing requirements for Certified Behavioral Health Peer Support Specialist in accordance with MCA 37-78-202 and ARM 24.219.912u2022 Must self-identify as a person with lived experience of mental health, behavioral health, and/or substance use challengesEducation and Experienceu2022 High school diploma or equivalent requiredCertifications, Licenses, and Requirementsu2022 Certified Behavioral Health Peer Support Specialist (Montana)u2022 Must maintain certifications (provided by New Day, Inc.) in:o Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI)o CPRo First Aidu2022 Valid Montana driver's license with an insurable driving recordu2022 Personal vehicle with full coverage insuranceRequirements:u2022 Must be over 21 yrs of ageu2022 Be able to pass a Criminal Background Checku2022 Have a Montana License as a Peer Support Specialist
