There is flexibilityon day of the week based on availability. Flexibility in schedule isrequired for day, night or weekend classes as needed. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Responsible for planning,preparing, and delivering instruction and assessment of learningoutcomes. Utilize engaging instructional strategies and methodologieswhich foster student success both in and outside of the classroom.Maintain accurate student records and communication. Advise and supportstudents as a mentor and role model in the achievement of their learningand career goals. This includes being accessible to students outside ofscheduled classroom time. Provide educational leadership and workeffectively with faculty, administration, and campus support staff.Maintain Faculty Quality Assurance System requirements and licensurerequired by other agencies to maintain individual and programaccreditation. Comply with College policies and practices related toinstruction, assessment, and delivery. Additional duties andresponsibilities will be discussed as needs arise. Additional Duties andResponsibilities: Course emphasis will be on Programmable LogicControllers and electrical maintenance. Provide instruction andtechnical support to NWTC Corporate Training and Economic Development.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE Completion of ApprenticeshipProgram OR Journey-workers certificate in subject area OR Bachelor'sdegree in related field and five years direct occupational experience.At a minimum, occupational experience has to have occurred at least 1year within the last 5 years. Occupational experience may includepositions such as: Electrical and Instrumentation (E/I) Technician orJourney-level E/I Technician E/I Technician or Journey-level E/I LeadTechnician E/I Foreman Control Systems Technician Specifics on the jobexperience in: Troubleshooting and repairing process control systemsOperating electronic instrumentation equipment Selecting, installing,calibrating and checking sensing, telemetering and recordinginstrumentation and circuitry; and developing specifications. Sketching,building or modifying jigs, fixtures, instruments and related apparatus,and verifying dimensional and functional acceptabil ty of devicesfabricated. Operating test apparatus, regulating and recording effectsof actual or simulated conditions. Mathematically reducing test data tousable form and preparing graphs and written reports. Installing andrepairing wiring systems, switch gears, and main stalling and repairing electrical fixtures and equipment, motors, andother electrical driven machines including generators and alternators.Reading wiring blueprints. Complying with building and safety codes -electrical. Using hand and power tools. Using specialized testingequipment to ensure proper working order of machines and equipment.Adjusting pneumatic and electronic controls. Using and servicing highvoltage transformers. Inspecting, adjusting, and calibrating pressureand temperature measuring devices.
