Job Description Seeking an entry level Mechanical Designer/Drafter to join a growing team. The company designs, fabricates, and installs air handling systems for pulp and paper facilities. The role is part of the design department, responsible for collaborating with customers, fabrication shops, and field crews. Designers travel to customer sites, take field measurements, and create project specifications from start to finish, including customer approval and cost estimation. Responsibilities + Design ductwork and mechanical systems for industrial air handling systems using AutoCAD 3D. + Produce detailed drawing packages from design documents and field measurements. + Perform tasks required to complete field measurements and detailed note taking. + Responsible for all stages of design, from concept through detailing. + Perform material takeoffs. Essential Skills + At least 2 years of drafting experience, with mechanical or structural CAD experience preferred. + Formal training in AutoCAD through a certification program or technical degree is a plus. + Experience with mechanical air systems design or structural fabrication design. + Skills associated with mechanical construction/fabrication disciplines, such as plumbing, piping, sheet metal, and ductwork. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Ability to perform tasks required to complete field measurements and detailed note taking. + Capability to travel as required, with per diem compensation Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pensacola, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $38.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
