FIRE DISPATCHER - Range 23 / IAFF

: Open to the general public and any current Municipal employee. This position is represented by the International Association of Firefighters (IAFF) - Local 1264 and is subject to the provisions of the current agreement between the Municipality of Anchorage and the IAFF. DEPARTMENT:Anchorage Fire Department HOURS OF WORK:Various due to 24-hour operations - 40 hours per week LOCATION OF WORK:1301 E 80th Ave Anchorage, AK 99518 Employees who are hired or rehired to any position shall be placed at the entrance pay step, and advancement from the entrance step to the maximum step within a pay grade shall be by successive steps. To be considered for employment, applicants must be legally authorized to work and accept employment in the United States. The Municipality of Anchorage is not able to provide any type of sponsorship, including Student Visas and Employment Visas, under any circumstances.: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent, and three (3)years of experience which involve a substantial amount of public contact and office clerical duties and one (1) year of public safety dispatching experience. OR High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent, and three (3)years of experience which involve a substantial amount of public contact and office clerical duties and one (1) year of experience receiving calls, analyzing situations, gathering and providing information for response to critical incidents, and taking appropriate action to respond.
