Summary The Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center (VAMC) in Wichita, Kansas is currently recruiting for an INTERMITTENT Social Worker - Substance Abuse Treatment and Rehabilitation. Responsibilities Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional The Social Worker - Substance Use Treatment and Rehabilitation serves in the Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Clinic and the Substance Abuse Residential Rehabilitative Treatment Programs at the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center. The social worker in this position provides assessment, treatment, case management, and planning to patients with substance use disorders as part of a multidisciplinary team. The incumbent services as a specialist in substance abuse within the facility and provides direct patient care services in the program area of addictions recovery. Interventions are provided in both the intensive outpatient care setting and within the residential treatment program. Additional functions of the position include, but are not limited to: Performing specialized treatment of mental health disorders and substance abuse/addictions. Providing individual, group, and family psychotherapy and case management interventions. Delivering direct social work services to Veterans, family members and significant others involved in the outpatient and residential SUD programs. Conducting psychosocial assessments. Coordinating community-based services, including information and referral for additional services from other VA programs, other government programs and community agency programs. Establishing and maintaining effective therapeutic relationships with Veterans and their families. When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade). Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child. Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.
