Join us in shaping a new era in space and find a career that's built for you. - - - What You'll Own As a Level 5 Loads & Dynamics Engineer on the Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) program, you will serve as a technical leader responsible for dynamic environments and structural integrity of flight hardware operating in extreme conditions. You wonu2019t just run analyses u2014 youu2019ll shape design decisions, influence requirements, and guide hardware from concept through test and flight. Your responsibilities will include: u2022 Leading structural dynamics analyses for spacecraft and interceptor flight hardware u2022 Developing and maintaining high-fidelity finite element and multibody dynamic models to simulate mechanical loads, shock, vibration, and separation events u2022 Performing loads development at system, subsystem, and component levels u2022 Driving Coupled Loads Analysis (CLA) efforts with launch vehicle and system partners u2022 Planning and executing static, vibration, acoustic, modal, shock, and separation dynamics testing u2022 Correlating analytical models to test data and resolving discrepancies u2022 Defining dynamic requirements and integrating them into the system baseline u2022 Presenting technical findings at Design Reviews, Technical Interchange Meetings, Test Readiness Reviews, and Engineering Review Boards u2022 Mentoring junior engineers and serving as a subject matter resource within the organization This role offers significant technical ownership and visibility across engineering disciplines. Basic Qualifications: u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline (or equivalent experience) u2022 Experience performing static and structural dynamics analysis for spacecraft, aircraft, missiles, or similarly complex systems u2022 Proficiency with tools such as ADAMS, NX Simulation, NASTRAN, LS-Dyna, Wave6, or equivalent u2022 Experience using MATLAB (or similar) for analysis automation and data reduction u2022 Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance, thus US citizenship is required. Desired Skills: u2022 Masteru2019s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Mechanics, or related discipline u2022 9+ years of structural dynamics experience in aerospace or defense applications u2022 Deep understanding of structural dynamics, strength of materials, and missile/spacecraft structural behavior u2022 Experience with Craig-Bampton substructuring, component mode synthesis, and modern substructure modeling techniques u2022 Strong background in finite element modeling, modal analysis, and model correlation u2022 Experience with composite and metallic structural analysis u2022 Coupled Loads Analysis (CLA) experience with spacecraft or launch vehicles u2022 Demonstrated leadership in test planning and execution for aerospace flight hardware u2022 Proven ability to work across systems, stress, design, aerodynamics, and test teams in an integrated environment u2022 A proactive mindset u2014 you take ownership and drive complex technical challenges to closure Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration. Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits. Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $122,900 - $216,660. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidateu2019s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
