Research Scientist 1, Chung Lab + Job Number: 25519 + Functional Area: Research - Scientific + Department: Picower Institute for Learning & Memory + School Area: Science + Pay Range Minimum: $72,000 + Pay Range Maximum: $92,000 + Employment Type: Full-Time + Employment Category: Exempt + Visa Sponsorship Available: Yes + Schedule: + Pay Grade: No Grade Email a Friend Save Save Apply Now Posting Description RESEARCH SCIENTIST 1, CHUNG LAB, Picower Institute for Learning and Memory, is a pivotal role responsible for generating spatial transcriptomic and proteomic optical imaging data of human and non-human primate brains, utilizing the novel technology pipeline established by the Chung Lab, including tissue processing, molecular probe staining, and volumetric data acquisition using light sheet microscopes. Will be a direct contributor to a large NIH UM1 research center, entitled Center for Multi-scale Multi-Omic Human and Non-human Primate Atlas. The primary responsibilities of the research scientist are to independently conduct experiments and optimize various protocols to ensure successful and consistent results; work closely with the collaborating teams across the center to conduct necessary protocol validation experiments; work closely with the Principal Investigator and key personnel of the Center to meet the milestone timeline via routine updates meeting with Project Teams/Programs/Cores for the center; assist with preparation of quarterly/annual progress reports for funded research projects; ensure timely data generation and experimental research progress; independently conduct and lead experiments to meet the requirement of overall center goals with assistance from junior research staff; participates in research activities taking place in lab; and monitoring project deadlines and coordinating with PI/Key Personnel of the center.The full job description is available, here: Job Requirements REQUIRED: Ph.D. in neuroscience, biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, material science, biology, chemistry, or related scientific field; a minimum of five years of experience working in a large research laboratory; strong technical/scientific writing skills; experience with research/grant proposal development, writing and editing; publications record in reputable journals; and supervisory experience,2/27/2026
