JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position: CNC Machinist Shift: 2nd Shift - Mondaythrough Thursday from 2:25pm to 12:55am Reports to: ProductionSupervisor - Fabrication Supervisory Responsibilities: None CMD'sPurpose: Making It Better Together We believe in building lifelongpartnerships, providing high performing equipment and value-addedsolutions. Position Summary: The role isresponsible for operating and maintaining CNC machines to produceprecision parts and components according to specifications. The role iscritical to production success. Essential Functions: Performs start-up,operation, and shutdown of CNC Mill and CNC Lathe. Selects and installsappropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and attachments for each job.Maintains knowledge of all machine codes and their proper functions andformat. Responsible for proper setting of height offsets, cuttercompensation, and floating zeros. Uses basic hand tools, includingcalipers, micrometers, gages, and various other hand tools. Maintainsproper feeds and speeds on the various types of materials used in theshop when using these tools: Fly Mills, Drills, End Mills, Reamers,Carbides, Taps, Boring Bars, Hog Mills, and Spot/Center Drills. TurningTools, Threading Tools, Drills, Reamers, Carbides, Boring Bars, GroovingTools, Taps, and Spot Center Drills. Performs absolute/incrementalpositioning and programming, understanding sub-programs, alarms,corrective actions. Performs basic machine maintenance, includinglubrication, debris removal, and proper cooling techniques/spects finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards andspecifications. Maintains accurate records of production activities,inspection reports, and machine logs. Uses MIS system to enter timespent working on fab parts. Develops knowledge of other work stationsand supports other roles in fabrication to assist in the completion ofwork. Trains new employees as designated by the supervisor. Supports andadapts to Continuous Improvement initiatives. Practices only safe workhabits and ensures all safety rules are followed. Work Environment: CMDis located in Appleton, WI. Our three facilities operate by secureentry, are well lit, air temperature controlled for comfort, and cleanwith low noise. Physical movement is required to inspect, touch, bend, reach,stoop, kneel, crouch or twist in the capital equipment manufacturingprocess. Capacity to wear personal protective equipment such as safetyglasses, ear protection, and hard hat as needed. Ability to tolerateexposure to moderate levels of noise, vibration, and varyingtemperatures. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted. Ability tofollow health and safety guidelines and protocols including emergencyprocedures. Regular, predictable attendance is required. Status:Full-time, nonexempt. OTHER EXPERIENCE ANDQUALIFICATIONS: Proven experience as a CNC Machinist with a strongunderstanding of operation, programming, and maintenance. Ability toread blueprints and set-up sheets. Proficiency in CAD software, G-codeprogramming, and the use of precision measuring tools such as calipers,micrometers, and gauges.
