In addition, you will…What You’ll Do:Verify coverages and perform coverage investigations by gathering pertinent informationInvestigate losses and negotiate claims settlements with claimants and their legal representative within assigned authority limitsManage investigative process by taking recorded statements, obtaining investigative reports, evaluating damages or eligibility for benefits, and determining legal responsibilityPrepare and present claims for discussion among the commercial claim leadership team as part of Sentry’s collaborative escalation process Maintain accurate documentation of investigative facts and decisions that occur during the investigation, evaluation, or resolution processes.Assist the claims team with training and providing technical claims knowledgeWhat it Takes:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience5+ years of related work experience, property claim field experience highly preferredThrough knowledge of insurance policies and coverages, claim payment procedures, insurance regulations, and familiarity with legal terminologyPrevious insurance experience and/or courseworkPossess strong analytical abilities to review, exercise judgement, and evaluate claims to make sound decisionsAbility to review and interpret complex and detailed documents such as contracts, estimates, and insurance regulationsEffective oral and written communication skills and human relations skillsAbility to maintain confidentialityAbility to pass required coursework applicable to job dutiesAbility to meet the travel requirements of the job to include business related assignments, with limited notice. This may include being away for multiple weeks, as business needs arise such as after a catastrophic storm event.
