Job Description A client of insight global is seeking a Design Engineer for a client in Sarasota, FL. The Design Engineer will be responsible for developing, modeling, and improving ceramic products and components using SolidWorks and other engineering tools. This role involves close collaboration with production, quality, and R&D teams to ensure that designs meet performance, manufacturability, and cost requirements. Key Responsibilities Product & Component Design u2022u2003Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings of ceramic parts using SolidWorks. u2022u2003Develop prototypes and validate product designs through testing and analysis. u2022u2003Perform tolerance stack-up & geometric dimensioning (GD&T) to ensure precision. Manufacturing Support u2022u2003Translate design concepts into manufacturing-ready components. u2022u2003Work closely with production teams on processes such as: ou2003Slip casting ou2003Pressing ou2003Extrusion ou2003Injection molding ou2003Glazing and kiln firing u2022u2003Optimize designs to reduce tooling complexity and production time. Material & Process Engineering u2022u2003Select appropriate ceramic materials based on application, performance, and thermal/mechanical requirements. u2022u2003Support process improvements to reduce defects, enhance strength, and improve consistency. Documentation & Compliance u2022u2003Generate engineering documentation including BOMs, technical drawings, and work instructions. u2022u2003Ensure designs meet quality, safety, and industry standards. Cross Functional Collaboration u2022u2003Work with R&D on new product development. u2022u2003Collaborate with quality engineering to resolve design or manufacturing issues. u2022u2003Provide technical support to suppliers and customers as required. Compensation: $70,000 to $80,000. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
