Related functionsPerforms as manager-on-duty in the absence of pool manager.Physical RequirementsAbility to demonstrate physical fitness to include frequent light to occasional heavy lifting (up to 70 lbs.), swimming, standing, and walking for long periods of time, bending, pushing, and pulling.Able to stand, sit and walk for extended periods of time and intermittently.Ability to reach with hands and arms, push items overhead, occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch.Ability to talk, hear, and see. CompetenciesAbility to provide direct leadership, instruction.Knows and understands emergency procedures.Ability to maintain focus and alertness while on duty. SkillsMust be able to demonstrate proficiency of swim skills. Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills. AbilitiesMust be able to communicate effectively with swimmers, parents, and other patrons. Required Education and ExperienceRed Cross Lifeguard Certification. Must be at least 18 years old.
