This role develops and executes strategies, technologies, and operational procedures to enhance system reliability, ensure compliance with NERC CIP requirements, cybersecurity, performance, and efficiency across the OT environment.The position provides leadership for NERC CIP (Critical Infrastructure Protection) and information security compliance initiatives, ensuring OT systems remain secure, regulatory requirements are met, and established controls are effective and sustainable. The Senior Manager oversees teams responsible for OT infrastructure, including server systems, applications, and end-user support.This role partners closely with Engineering, Power Plant Operations, Information Security, IT, Network and Regulatory teams to maintain highly reliable OT systems to support SCADA, PLC, DCS, and MES platforms. The Senior Manager drives continuous improvement initiatives that increase uptime, operational safety, system visibility, and resilience.This is a hands-on leadership position that balances strategic planning and project execution with operational support. The role collaborates with third-party vendors, system integrators, and internal stakeholders to deliver secure, compliant, and high-performing OT solutions aligned with business objectives.Key AccountabilitiesDue to the operational and on-site requirements, this role is limited to candidates who currently reside within Great Houston, Texas area.OT Operations LeadershipLead daily OT operations, including Field Services and Server teamsExecute OT projects from requirements gathering through commissioning, documentation, and steady-state supportOversee staffing activities including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, and performance managementDevelop team capabilities through mentoring, coaching, and technical developmentFoster a high-performing, accountable, and safety-focused cultureNERC CIP & Compliance OversightEnsure ongoing compliance with NERC CIP and internal security policiesMaintain and enhance security controls to meet regulatory and operational requirementsSupport audits, documentation, and evidence managementTechnology Strategy & InnovationEvaluate new applications, products, and technologiesDevelop and implement solutions that enhance reliability, cybersecurity, and operational efficiencyAlign technology initiatives with business and operational objectivesSupport standardization of OT configurations, naming conventions, and basic architecture across sitesOT Infrastructure ManagementManage deployment, monitoring, maintenance, upgrades, and support of OT systems and infrastructureEnsure high availability and resilience of production systemsCross-Functional CollaborationPartner with Operations DCOE, SCADA Engineering, IT, and other departmentsGuide and support new projects and operational initiativesProvide technical leadership to achieve departmental and organizational goalsPolicy & Procedure DevelopmentDevelop and maintain operational policies and procedures for the OT team and end usersEnsure alignment with compliance, cybersecurity, and operational best practicesVendor & Procurement ManagementManage procurement and lifecycle of vendor solutions and servicesEvaluate and integrate new vendors and technologies into OT systemsPerforms other duties as assignedExperience/Qualifications/Education RequiredBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent relevant experience).Minimum of 8 years of related experience in OT systems, infrastructure, or industrial environmentsMinimum 5 years of experience leading and managing infrastructure teamsIT/OT certifications are a plusDemonstrated supervisory experience managing and mentoring technical teamsStrong understanding of OT systems and infrastructure (e.g., SCADA, servers, virtualization, storage, backup & recovery, patching, networking, industrial systems)Experience managing projects and delivering operational improvementsStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholdersAbility to make sound decisions aligned with regulatory requirements and established procedures.Experience within Pattern’s OT Operations team or similar renewable energy environmentDeep familiarity with NERC CIP compliance requirementsProven track record of building and sustaining high-performing technical teamsThe expected starting pay range for this role is $118,000 - $160,000 USD. This range is an estimate and base pay may be above or below the ranges based on several factors including but not limited to location, work experience, certifications, and education. In addition to base pay, Pattern’s compensation program includes a bonus structure for full-time employees of all levels.
