Position Description & Qualifications Looking for a Senior AI/ML Engineer position where you can make a difference every day? In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and deploying production-grade agentic AI systemsu2014LLM-powered workflows that can reason, call tools, retrieve knowledge (RAG), and reliably operate inside real software environments. Youu2019ll own solutions end-to-end, from agent orchestration and evaluation to deployment, scaling, and monitoring, using Python and Rust where performance and correctness matter. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in backend and applied AI engineering, excellent communication skills, and a passion for innovation. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong collaboration and communication skills are essential, as you will act as a key contributor and technical resource across teams and stakeholders. The successful candidate will be responsible for: Collaboration and Communication + Act as a go-to resource for AI/ML engineering inquiries and strategic decisions across multiple teams. + Clearly articulate technical direction, updates, and key priorities to stakeholders, while working in close coordination with Product, DevOps, and Support to drive effective rollouts and maximize system reliability and user engagement. Technical Leadership and Solution Delivery + Build and ship LLM agent workflows using frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, LlamaIndex (or equivalent). + Implement tool-calling, agent state/memory, structured outputs, and event-driven workflow triggers. + Design and deploy RAG pipelines: embeddings, retrieval, reranking, vector databases (e.g., pgvector, qdrant, Pinecone, Elasticsearch), and evaluation loops. + Build model serving / LLMOps: API endpoints, routing, streaming, rate limits, budgets, reliability, and monitoring in production. + Use Rust to accelerate critical paths (inference orchestration, retrieval/ranking pipelines, high-throughput services) and integrate cleanly with Python stacks. + Create evaluation harnesses for agents (quality, safety, latency, cost), and iterate via experiments and A/B testing. + Deploy on modern infrastructure: Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and production observability (logs/metrics/traces). Continuous Improvement and Feedback + Test and evaluate system performance based on extensive technical and user feedback. + Obtain feedback from users and stakeholders on how well solutions meet their needs. + Coordinate and synchronize improvements by sharing feedback with the team and evolving solution design. To be successful in this role, you will have: + Active Secret security clearance required + U.S Citizenship + Bacheloru2019s degree in a relevant field + Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience + Excellent communication and collaboration skills + Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders + Ability to travel up to 10% Additional Desired Experience and Skills: + Strong backend and applied AI engineering experience with Python; comfortable owning production services end-to-end + Working proficiency in a systems languageu2014Rust preferred (C++/Go acceptable)u2014and a desire to use it where it wins + Hands-on experience with LLM agent systems and the u201cagent ecosystemu201d (multi-agent patterns, orchestration, tool use) + Real deployment experience: containers, orchestration, scaling, and u201cit stays up on weekendsu201d operational thinking + Experience building RAG / search / retrieval systems (vector indexing, ranking, relevance evaluation) + Deep understanding of LLM architecture and inference optimization + Experience with distributed compute / large-scale systems (Ray/Slurm/etc.) + Building internal platforms or libraries for agent reuse across teams Company Overview Serco Inc.
