Description Our trusted client is seeking a Controller Consultant for a long-term engagement in Madison Heights, Michigan. This role requires an experienced financial Controller with expertise in manufacturing and government contracts, particularly in defense and commercial sectors. The ideal candidate will bring over a decade of experience, demonstrating strong capabilities in financial management and enterprise resource planning. The day-to-day responsibilities include: u2022 Oversee the financial operations of the organization, ensuring compliance with government contracts and defense manufacturing requirements. u2022 Manage month-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial data. u2022 Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize enterprise resource planning systems for financial efficiency. u2022 Analyze and interpret financial statements to provide strategic insights to leadership. u2022 Ensure adherence to financial regulations and guidelines specific to government and commercial contracts. u2022 Develop and implement financial policies and procedures tailored to both large and small-scale contracts. u2022 Monitor and report on the financial performance of the organization, highlighting areas for improvement. u2022 Lead audits and reviews to maintain accountability and transparency in financial practices. u2022 Work closely with stakeholders to negotiate and manage the financial terms of contracts. u2022 Provide guidance on budgeting and forecasting to support organizational goals. Requirements The ideal candidate will have the following skill set: u2022 Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial management, with a focus on manufacturing and government contracts. u2022 In-depth knowledge of defense and commercial contract regulations and compliance. u2022 Proficiency in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and financial software. u2022 Strong expertise in managing month-end close processes and financial reporting. u2022 Demonstrated ability to lead audits and ensure regulatory compliance. u2022 Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex financial data. u2022 Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse teams and stakeholders. u2022 Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; advanced certifications are a plus.
