The Principal Platforms Lead Director role will lead the Otsuka Commercial IT Sales Technologies platforms & teams by providing superior operational and project delivery across all technology initiatives. The position will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the execution of the various technology platforms including Commercial CRM, Field Sales Reporting, Sales Operations, Data Enablement Reporting & associated roadmaps as well as the prioritization and oversight across the associated projects and budget planning. This role will also be accountable for providing oversight of the operations support team for this domain. Job Summary The Director, Business Platforms and Tools will provide oversight and leadership across all technology systems as well as lead the center of excellence across Otsukau2019s critical platforms that support business operational outcomes and strategic goals. The Director role will lead the Otsuka operations platform team by providing superior operational and program delivery across all technology initiatives. The position will be responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of the execution of the roadmap but also the prioritization and oversight across the associated projects and capital planning process and manage the operations support team. The Director will work closely with various business partners across IT to ensure a holistic approach is aligned across the organization including prioritizing key business processes, establishing deployment strategies, and working with IT partners to ensure successful execution The Business Platform Lead core responsibilities include: Deliver key programs across roadmap Oversee and lead Center of Excellence/Managed Service Provider across platforms Vendor Management Financial Management and oversight IT Leadership Career Developer At Otsuka, we defy limitation, so that others can too. Job Description Core Responsibilities include but not limited to the following: Deliver key programs across roadmap: Effectively manage the technical team, providing oversight to deliver on strategic engagements and program deliverables, ensuring the team delivers against its commitments with the highest quality in a timely fashion. Accountable for the creation and ownership of appropriate business-aligned implementation plans, timelines, milestones, etc. Oversee and lead Center of Excellence teams as well as Managed Service Providers across platforms: Defines priorities for the team aligned with business priorities. Coordinates with the IT Business partners to develop an IT strategy and roadmap that addresses operational contingencies. Identifies technology opportunities to address process u2018pain pointsu2019, enable leading practices and technology-enabled improvement opportunities. Builds business case for implementation IT initiatives. Manages the service provider resources to ensure SLAu2019s are being met. Vendor Management: Oversee vendor selection, financial and performance management for assigned area, as well as direct relationship management with supplieru2019s executive team to influence the direction of the supplieru2019s growth to align with Otsuka needs. Builds and manages working relationship with service providers and software vendors. Coordinates with MSPs to assure proper coverage exists for all applications and all off-shore/on-shore resources Financial Management and Oversight: Review/create annual budgets, periodic forecasts and re-plans for assigned area, including investments and expenses for assigned projects, platforms, and services. Work closely with share services functions and Finance to maintain alignment on costs and timing. IT Leadership: Actively participates and influences internal IT strategies surrounding operating models, technology platforms, career growth, and diversity, equity and inclusion. Volunteer to lead internal initiatives that shape the future of IT at Otsuka. Continuously seek ways to optimize the IT operations and manage service providers without jeopardizing the service levels or impacting critical business events. Builds and actively drives an environment for a well-balanced, healthy and prosperous career Qualifications Knowledge/ Experience and Skills: Minimum of years 15+ years of experience providing solutions for business, developing and managing implementation of global platforms, with 5+ years of experience in Life Sciences or adjacent industries experience, and 3+ years in a leadership role. Working knowledge of key processes within the relevant business area and various regulations governing the pharmaceutical industry. Superior presentation skills with the ability to influence, drive action and strategy including ability to effectively interface with all levels including senior leadership with demonstrated executive presence. Organizational change management, issues & conflict management, business-technology innovation and transformation experience. Up to 10% travel is required, based upon business needs. Experience working with globally distributed business and IT teams, especially in Japan, EU and India. Broad business and IT capability awareness with hands on experience using or implementing functional area specific application. Multiple success in delivering new capabilities using system development life cycle (SDLC) practices and managing a complex portfolio using portfolio and project management (PPM) methodologies. To be successful in this Principal Platforms Lead role, a strong background and past technical engineering experience in working with the Commercial Pharma Sales Technology platforms and solutions is required . The following key skills are also deemed essential for success in this role. This leader partners closely with Sales Operations, Commercial Excellence, Finance, Compliance, Medical, and Data & Analytics to ensure robust, compliant, scalable, and user-centric solutions that accelerate commercial performance and align with global standards. Here are the key skills required: Key Technical Skills Required Sales Force Automation (SFA) & CRM Platforms Deep, handsu2011on expertise with: Veeva CRM (Field, KAM, CLM, Sampling, Remote Engagement) Alignment Functions (roster, segmentation & targeting, territory alignment) Salesforce Sales Cloud / Service Cloud What u201cexpertu201d means: Ability to define platform architecture, understand data flows, govern global templates, and guide technical teams on release planning, configurations, integrations, and validation. Integration Architecture & Data Flows Hands-on skills in: APIs, ETL/ELT pipelines , and enterprise integration patterns Real-time and batch integrations for CRM u2192 MDM u2192 Data Lake u2192 Analytics Managing integration tools (Mulesoft, Boomi, Informatica, Azure Integration Services) Key concepts: Reference data mapping HCP/HCO master data flows Identity, affiliation, roster data models Data lineage and stewardship Data, Reporting & Analytics Working knowledge of: Customer 360 models Field insights dashboards (Power BI, MyInsights) KPI frameworks: reach/frequency, call plan adherence, content utilization Data warehouses / lakes (Azure, AWS, Databricks) Not expected to _build_ , but must direct analytics teams and validate designs.
