Railroad Tie General Laborer - 1st shift

Wage: $22.17/hour Hours: 1st Shift, Monday-Friday, 6am-2pm Job responsibilities include, but not limited to: Works directly around treated wood Responsible for removing 1/4' steel rods from between the layers of treated ties Operation of air benders to package up treated ties into truck packs Uses a tie pick to space ties that are getting made into air stack bundles Applies steel endplates to the ties Use of an electric drill and a jug to drill holes in treated ties Laying plates and spikes on to the drilled ties in preparation for the next step of the production process Setting spikes into the ties using a hammer Utilizing a jackhammer to push spikes into the ties to a set height Job requirements include: HSD or GED preferred Ability to sit, stand, twist, bend, crouch, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 50lbs throughout shift Present a strong work ethic and a stable work history Ability to work in the elements, indoors and outdoors Previous Lumber Yard experience is preferred, but not required
