The Turnaround QA Techs will be the interface between contractor QC inspectors and QA Coordinators and other members of the turnaround team. Their role is primarily to monitor contractor performance in the field and help them deliver the quality work the plant expects. The QA Techu2019s responsibilities include: - 80% of the work day spent in their assigned area to observe the contractorsu2019 activities, including: - Auditing contractor flange inspections to ensure they are performed by Qualified Flange Inspectors and are performed correctly. - Auditing contractor flange make-up to ensure they are following the Site Flange Makeup Procedure. - Audit other contractor work and activities to verify that the plantu2019s procedures, EMETL practices, and pipe specs are being followed - Spot checking materials to verify that the correct nuts, bolts, gaskets, piping, valves, etc are being installed and that larger pieced (pipe, valves, etc) are tagged with a green PMI tag. Note: Materials should have been PMIu2019ed before issue to the contractors. If thereu2019s no indication that items were PMIu2019ed, they need to be re-verified or replaced. - Ensuring contractorsu2019 material handling practices address proper material issuing and storage as per G8S-6500-10, u201cWelding Material Controlu201d and G8S-6500-11, u201cMaterials Segregationu201d and the contractoru2019s TA Specific Quality Plan. - Spot check leak detection tubing installations to ensure the tubing is being installed properly. - Verifying that touch up/repair painting is done. Note : Contractor QCs should be addressing and tracking paint repairs. - Assisting inspectors activities, i.e. pictures, documentation, etc., at hold points or witness points when requested - Verify that quality checklists and reports are completed and submitted as per the contractoru2019s TA Specific Quality Plan - Reviewing documentation when contractors report that jobs are complete and organize field walks and sign-offs as per the RTO process. Work with the contractor QA reps to ensure punch lists are completed. - Learn tubing fitting assembly procedures and check that anyone making up these fittings knows how to do it per the procedures - Work with the QAQC Team, TACu2019s to agree on Systems and/or Jobs to be RTOu2019d and organize a field walk for these systems logging all deficiencies found. - Forward documents that are to be archived to the TA documenter. - Generate non-conformance reports when deviations from the plantu2019s practices, specifications and procedures or the contractoru2019s TA Quality Plan occur. - Update the Quality Team shift activity log to provide accurate communications across shifts. Meet or exceed the EH&S LHC TA Safety Plan Requirements. Required Qualifications: The QA Techu2019s primary qualifications are: - Two to five years of chemical plant and skilled craft experience - Basic computer skills -- Outlook, Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, Access - Ability to work in a team - Communications skills: written, verbal, etc. - Familiarity with the plantu2019s workstation tools such as SAP, CPPS, the Site equipment files and drawing files and with TA work processes and procedures may be helpful - High school diploma or GED is required. - Current, valid US driveru2019s license. - Willing to adhere to all safety standards, including the smoke/Tabacco free and drug-free workplace policy. - Good interpersonal skills are required. - A self-starter who can identify, prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks. - Able to work within an empowered team environment.
