DS Engineer Back Office Design

Description TEKsystems is seeking Junior up to Senior level DS (Distribution Systems) Engineers to help support our upcoming BIM contract. These levels include DS (Distribution Systems) Engineer, DS (Distribution Systems) Engineer Senior , and DS (Distribution Systems) Engineer Advisor. HOW A DS (Distribution Systems) ENGINEER Senior WILL MAKE AN IMPACT Field Engineer provides technical expertise to modernize network design and implementation supporting multiple Air Force and Space Force bases globally. The Field Engineer will be the technical resources supporting the survey and implementation efforts. Works closely with the base's counterparts and facilitate the planning, execution, testing and sustainment of the wired functionality of the network. Primary Responsibilities: u2022 Execution - Coordinate with Government Points of Contact (POCs) to coordinate design, installation, base access, clearance, escorts, personnel and equipment to ensure project tasks can be completed on time. u2022 Stakeholder Communications u2013 assist the PM with ensuring clear, consistent, timely and accurate communications are maintained with internal and external project stakeholders u2022 Technical support u2013 provide input into the distribution systems design (ISP/OSP) and technical recommendations to the program and operation teams. u2022 Leadership u2013 Lead small implementation teams or manage specific work scopes for a given AF/SF base. Other tasks include: u2022 Provides technical, administrative, and operational management of assigned projects u2022 Develops technical project plans, proposals, reports, and task order and administrative reporting u2022 Perform detailed technical services on assigned tasks u2022 Conducts planning and provides recommendations on task workload u2022 Provides input into risk tracking process. u2022 Attends customer meetings and serves as primary network engineering liaison. u2022 Interacts with vendors, other agencies, and other client staff. u2022 Coordinates development of deliverables and products. u2022 Ensures quality assurance of project deliverables. u2022 Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned. u2022 Participates in special projects as required. u2022 Reviews project requirements and develop strategies for future work. WHAT YOUu2019LL NEED TO SUCCEED: u25cf Education: Bacheloru2019s Degree from an accredited institute in an area applicable to this position. Equivalent years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree. u25cf Required Experience: u2022 For JUNIOR level: 2+ yearsu2019 experience in various aspects of IT upgrade projects in the DoD environment. u2022 For Senior level: 5+ yearsu2019 experience in various aspects of IT upgrade projects in the DoD environment. u2022 For ADVISOR level: 8+ yearsu2019 experience in various aspects of IT upgrade projects in the DoD environment. Technical Skills: u00b7 Familiarity with distribution systems (ISP/OSP) design and Implementation documents such as u2013 Site Survey Reports, Preliminary and Critical Design documentation, As-built diagrams, rack elevations and circuit connectivity matrices u00b7 Familiar with all aspects of fiber testing u00b7 Thorough understanding of Wired and general IT functions Skills & Abilities: u00b7 Ability to work effectively in a virtual teaming environment. u00b7 Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, documents and governmental regulations u00b7 Strong commitment to a team environment and the ability to work collaboratively u00b7 Strong coordination and organizational skills u00b7 Excellent written and oral communication skills DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience using MS Visio or related CAD tools Security Clearance Level: Active DoD Secret Level Clearance required Skills cabling, inventory tracking, cat5, network cabling Top Skills Details cabling,inventory tracking,cat5,network cabling Additional Skills & Qualifications The manager is expecting these back office roles to last upwards of 6 months or longer. Assuming that GDIT continues to win task orders, the ideally would like to move these teams over to new contracts. If candidate is willing to travel, they can also use them for implementation.
