Because this position requires close interaction, you have the opportunity to build strong relationships with both patients and their families. Often, your patients are dealing with pain, so sensitivity is important. Ultimately, your unconditional support and reassurance can drive them to work hard and regain their health.This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers working a day/evening rotation. On Monday and Wednesday, shifts are 7:45 a.m. -- 4:15 p.m. and 10:45 a.m. -- 7:15 p.m., and on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, shifts are 8:30 a.m. -- 5:00 p.m. Caregivers are expected to pick up at least 1-2 additional shifts per week.A caregiver who excels in this role will:Evaluate and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy treatment terpret plans and supervise patient treatments in accordance with the physician referral, ensuring the care, safety and wellbeing of the patient.Review and evaluate the patient's response or lack thereof to treatment.Make recommendations to the physician relative to the need to continue or discontinue physical therapy treatment.Provide appropriate documentation for each patient’s visit in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.Be responsible for the maintenance and care of all equipment and apparatus.Be responsible for the economical use of supplies, linens and utilities.Provide appropriate billing for each patient visit in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.Assist in on-the-job training of all ancillary personnel.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Bachelor’s Degree or certificateGraduate of a Physical Therapy Program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association or a related international degreeCurrent state licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT)Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red CrossInternship experiencePreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Experience in an acute-care settingPersonal Protective Equipment:Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.Pay RangeSalaries [which may be] shown on independent job search websites reflect various market averages and do not represent information obtained directly from The Cleveland Clinic.
