State of Idaho Opportunity Deputy Attorney General, Natural Resources Division Closing Date: Open until filled. Start Date: To be determined upon hire. Salary: Starting at $90,000 - Depends on Experience (DOE). Location: Boise, Idaho Primary Duties: The Natural Resources Division of the Idaho Attorney Generalu2019s Office is seeking applications for an attorney to provide representation and counsel to the State of Idaho and its natural resource agencies including the Idaho Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, the State in special litigation proceedings, the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation, and other boards, commissions or agencies, as assigned. Practice areas can include oil and gas regulation and enforcement; Idaho Public Records Law and Open Meeting Law; FERC proceedings; Endangered Species Act and NEPA litigation; adjudication of state, federal and tribal water rights; natural resource uses on public lands; civil litigation arising from contracts, torts, state and federal laws, etc.; and advising and representing natural resource agencies on contracting, rulemaking, and other administrative matters. Minimum Qualifications: + Admission to the Idaho State Bar and U.S. District of Idaho. + Three years of relevant legal and technical work experience or coursework. + Experience in civil litigation procedure and practice, including pleadings, discovery, dispositive motions, trial, post-trial motions, appeals. + Knowledge of state contract terms, contract review and application, and drafting. + Exceptional public speaking, computer, writing, editing, telephone, and client management skills are required. + Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately. Strong computer skills and effective use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word and Outlook. Preferred Qualifications: + Five or more years of litigation experience. + Experience in contract and real property law. + Mediation and negotiation skills. + Interpreting and applying laws, regulations, and policies. + Researching and preparing reports and recommendations.
