Job Title: Technician (Electrician) Job Description We are seeking a skilled Technician (Electrician) who will report to the Electrical Supervisor. This role involves preventive maintenance, repair, and alterations of electrical equipment within Building Authority properties. Responsibilities + Perform preventive maintenance and repair on lighting systems, emergency generators, motors, motor control systems, pumps, card readers, automatic door systems, commercial laundry equipment, air conditioning systems, and control circuits. + Work on various electrical kitchen equipment systems, intercom, public address systems, high voltage switch gear, and fire and smoke alarm systems. + Conduct electrical alterations for buildings maintained by Downtown operations, including the installation of communication cables, switches, receptacles, conduit, and pulling wires. + Connect completed electrical circuits to power sources and interpret and apply the National Electrical Code (NEC) to jobs. + Install various camera and fire alarm systems, read blueprints and schematic diagrams, and assist the electrical supervisor in laying out alterations. + Comply with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations, and assist other shops with maintenance repair tasks. + Perform additional duties as assigned by the Electrical Supervisor. Essential Skills + Three years of experience and working knowledge in preventative maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical systems. + Proficiency in facilities maintenance, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, repair, mechanical troubleshooting, and building maintenance. + Ability to interpret building codes and schematic diagrams. + Skill in electrical troubleshooting and using a multimeter. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with power tools, drywall, carpentry, preventive maintenance, and painting. + Familiarity with equipment and tools including Mega Ohm, Amp and Volt meters, Circuit Traces, Pipe Benders, Trucks, Ladders, Electrical Hand Tools, and Safety Equipment. Work Environment This role primarily operates indoors with routine exposure to outdoor conditions. You will work in a court building attached to a prison, balancing independent tasks with collaborative projects. Daily tasks involve the use of various maintenance tools and equipment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $38.00/hr.
