Job Title: Chief Engineer Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Engineer to oversee the maintenance and operations of our high-rise building facilities. This role involves ensuring that all work is conducted according to established procedures for quality and productivity, within budget, and in compliance with safety codes. Responsibilities + Ensure work is performed following established procedures for quality and productivity, within budget, and meets all safety codes. + Review and approve work orders; evaluate subcontractors; create preventative maintenance plans; conduct QA/QC inspections for all building systems evaluations. + Supervise Building Technicians, including recruiting, hiring, supervision, recognition, disciplinary actions, salary administration, performance appraisals, and terminations. + Develop, evaluate, and train assigned staff to ensure high skill levels and technical competence. + Perform duties of a Building Technician IV as required. + Provide operating and capital expenditure recommendations to the management team. + Perform other job-related duties as assigned. + Lead emergency response activities and manage the on-call/shift schedule for assigned technicians. + Participate in design and construction of new facilities and fit-outs, reviewing and commenting on submittals and design submissions. + Troubleshoot, maintain, and control extensive building systems (HVAC, mechanical, and electrical). + Manage automation systems including BMS/BAS, SACDA, fire alarm, VESDA-system trending, reporting, programming, and alarm management. + Read and follow trade-related building, electrical drawings, one line/three line, mechanical and plumbing drawings, and internal wiring schematics. + Monitor and implement OSHA requirements for technical staff/vendors. + Maintain good verbal and written communication skills and strong organizational skills. + Interface with customers and explain highly technical issues to varied audiences. Essential Skills + Minimum of 10 years of commercial building experience. + Extensive knowledge in HVAC, plumbing, electrical troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance. + Ability to perform 24-hour on-call and off-hours duty including evenings, weekends, and holidays. + Valid driveru2019s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle. Additional Skills & Qualifications + High school diploma or equivalent with vocational coursework in HVAC, electricity, plumbing, or related areas. + Universal CFC certification. + State Certified Journeymanu2019s license or equivalent. + State Certified Masteru2019s license or equivalent is preferred. + State 1ST Grade Stationary Engineer license or equivalent preferred.
