Job Title: Thermoforming Technician Operator Job Description As a Thermoforming Technician Operator, you will be pivotal in creating batches of material following precise specifications. Your duties will include weighing materials, maintaining cleanliness in the mixing area, and troubleshooting any mixing issues. Additionally, you will be required to perform tasks as directed by your Manager or Group Leader. Responsibilities + Review the Mixing Schedule and produce batches as scheduled. + Inspect reconditioned drums before use following MS 9.1/3-43. + Dump batches from mixers and communicate with the previous mixerman about any irregularities or special instructions. + Follow the Mixing Procedure to produce standard production batches. + Report any abnormalities, such as non-conforming raw materials or equipment malfunctions, to your Group Leader and QA immediately. + Maintain accurate identification on batches and complete necessary paperwork, including batch tickets and mixing dump reports, in a timely manner. + Inform your Manager about unidentified or mis-identified batches, safety concerns, or maintenance issues. + Keep the work area neat and clean, and run processes to maximize product quality and output. + Ensure safety apparatuses are in place and use the oldest lots of raw materials first (FIFO). + Handle hazardous waste responsibly and perform real-time reporting in SAP. + Communicate effectively with all team members and perform inspections and tests on drums and batches. + Operate a forklift when required. + For u201cAu201d Mixer Operators only: Train new Mixer Operator Trainees, make trial batches for R&D and Product Development, and manufacture highly critical products. Essential Skills + 1-3 years of experience in Mixing, Batching, Compounding, and Chemical handling. + Proficiency in machine operation and blending. + Experience in batch production and documentation. + Forklift operation experience. + Ability to lift up to 60lbs repeatedly. + Comfortable working in environments with strong odors. + Ability to pass a skills key test and an audiogram test. Additional Skills & Qualifications + High School diploma or GED equivalent. + Experience in industrial cleaning or housekeeping is beneficial. + Prior mixing and batching experience is advantageous. + Chemical manufacturing experience is a plus. + Ability to speak, read, and write English. Work Environment This role is based in a chemical plant, primarily focused on automotive material production. The environment is climate-controlled but involves exposure to moving equipment, noise, fumes, vibrations, and dust. Safety is a priority, with PPE provided, including steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and respirators. Shifts are available on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, with potential overtime based on business needs. Training must occur on 1st or 2nd shift due to the absence of trainers on the 3rd shift. The work schedule requires standing, walking, climbing, and operating a forklift throughout shifts $23 first shift / $25 off shift.
