Insurance Verification Coordinator

Description We are looking for an Insurance Verification Coordinator to join our team in Bronx, New York. This is a contract position where you will play a key role in supporting patients within the Emergency Department. You will assist individuals by identifying their needs, documenting essential health information, and connecting them with available resources to enhance their care experience. Responsibilities: u2022 Conduct one-on-one patient interactions within the Emergency Department to assess needs and provide support. u2022 Utilize the provided screening tools to evaluate social determinants of health and document findings accurately in the electronic medical record. u2022 Identify patients with positive screenings and coordinate referrals to social workers for further assistance. u2022 Provide patients with information about supportive services available through the Emergency Department. u2022 Access and navigate electronic medical record systems, including Altera, to document and retrieve necessary information. u2022 Collaborate with the Emergency Department team to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication. u2022 Maintain accurate and organized records of patient interactions and referrals. u2022 Work closely with the ED social worker to align schedules and enhance patient support during standard business hours. u2022 Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures while handling sensitive patient information securely. Requirements u2022 Associate's Degree in a relevant field is required. u2022 Proficiency in electronic medical record systems, including Altera. u2022 Experience with Allscripts, Cerner Technologies, and other healthcare software systems. u2022 Strong ability to document and assess social determinants of health using screening tools. u2022 Familiarity with CRM systems, billing functions, and benefit authorizations. u2022 Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare teams. u2022 Capability to manage inbound calls and provide accurate information. u2022 Detail-oriented with the ability to create and interpret charts and graphs.
