Position Purpose: In a team oriented work environment, underlittle to no supervision, Structural Mech III perform a variety ofstructural assembly operations using required. tools and appropriateprints, specs and operational requirements to complete work assignment,and ensure conformance to specification. All work performed should be inaccordance with company design specifications, quality standards andcompleted work should meet customer expectations. May assist andinstruct other team members. Job Description Principle Duties andResponsibilities: Essential Functions: Safely perform assembly andfitting of detail parts and structures and varied drilling and rivetingoperations; ensures parts/assembly meet requirements. Safely performsheetmetal layout, fabrication, and installation of parts, equipment orfabricated items on aircraft . Possess the proven ability to move to newtasks with only a moderate, short-term impact to established goal hoursand schedule . Rivet structural members, assemblies and parts using alltools required. to do the job (e.g. portable riveting guns, pneumaticdrills, counter sinks, rivet shavers, files, reamers, rivets). Abilityto remove fasteners without damaging structures . Read work orders,blueprints, lofts, sketches, and operation sheets to determine sequenceof operations, type size and hole pattern for rivets, cut and formplastics and follow standard operating procedures when using adhesives,sealants, and solvents . Check all work and ensure a defective freeassembly prior to final inspection . Instruct and assist other teammembers in interpretation of blueprints, drawings, and engineeringorders; develop methods and shop aids to resolve production installationdifficulties and problems . Maintain and use all logs and records (e.g.MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, PCOs) . Align and assemble parts to be rivetedusing jigs, holding fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners. Utilizingproper tooling, shape and form complex angles and configurationsaccording to blueprint specifications or written/verbal information .Make repairs per Discrepant Material Tags (DMT), Material Review Request(MRR), Production Change Orders (PCO), performs necessary rework toensure installations meet conformity . Maintain a neat and orderly workarea, supports the company 5S & Lean Initiative Program and complieswith all safety regulations. Use of personal protective equipment asrequired.
