Advent Health Celebration Unit is a premier destination for obstetrical care. AH Celebration is a Magnet Recognized campus for nursing excellence. Just 28 miles south of Orlando, Celebration was designed as a Mediterranean resort-style facility to serve as a cornerstone of health in Disney’s planned community of Celebration, Florida.The Mother Infant Unit provides Level II Maternity Care for approximately 3,375+ births per year (281+ babies per month). The unit consists of a 24 bed Mother Baby Unit. There is also a 13 bed overflow GYN/MIU unit available as needed. The adjacent units are a 10 bed NICU, 16 bed Labor and Delivery Unit (6 OB triage, 9 labor rooms). The mother baby team provides couplet care for our moms and babies as well as cares for our GYN post-operative patients during their recovery.The multidisciplinary team is supported by OB Hospitalists 24/7, Neonatologists/Pediatric Hospitalists, and lactation consultants. The NICU team attends 100% of deliveries.The OB team has received the AACN BEACON Award for Excellence recognizing top achievement in quality outcomes, patient experience and team engagement.AH Celebration is a Baby Friendly designated campus.Advent Health for Women is a key part of the Florida Perinatal Quality Collaborative’s PROVIDE initiative (reducing primary c-sections) and MORE (reducing maternal opioids). Our team is able to provide virtual classes and tours with our patients and individualized care with our Birth Experience team.Other highlights include the Professional Excellence Program, active Unit Practice Council, and our Perinatal Nurse Internship Program.By joining this team, you can expect that you will be supported in your role, have opportunities to grow in your profession and have leaders that are invested in your well-being.* Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients. * Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary. * Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions. * Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance. * Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork. * Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information, care activities, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record. * Evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and interventions continuously, making necessary adjustments to improve patient health and achieve positive outcomes. * Ensure compliance with infection control protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe healthcare environment. * Provide emotional support and therapeutic communication to patients and their families, addressing their emotional and psychological needs. * Supervise and delegate care provided by members of the healthcare team to ensure quality and efficiency. * Engage in continuous professional development and participate in performance improvement activities to enhance patient care and operational efficiency. * Respond to code situations promptly and effectively, providing necessary interventions to stabilize patients.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:• Organizational and multi-tasking skills• Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures• Ability to work as a Team player within a unit• Effective verbal and oral communication and problem-solving skillsEducation:• Associate's of Nursing [Required]• Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]Work Experience:• 1+ acute care hospital setting [Preferred]Licenses and Certifications:• Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) and NRP [Required]• Acute/Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist (CCNS) [Preferred]Physical Requirements: (Please click the link below to view work requirements)Physical Requirements - Range:$31.53 - $52.24This facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local anti-discrimination laws, regulations and ordinances.
