Assists surgeons (under direction/supervision of the same) during surgical or invasive operative procedures. Participates in postoperative rounds and treatments; evaluates patients’ progress toward obtaining desired outcomes. Assess patients’ and/or family members’ knowledge level; provides appropriate education to same. Performs miscellaneous duties not expressly described herein.Reports To:RN [Registered Nurse]/Nurse Manager (JC: 031001)Supervises:None.Required Education: Associate degree in nursing. Successful completion of a Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) program accredited by the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN).Preferred Education:Bachelor’s degree in nursing.Required Experience:Two (2) years of perioperative registered nursing experience.Preferred Experience: Two (2) years of perioperative first assistance experience. Required Certification/License/Registry:Licensed as a registered nurse (RN) in accordance with Florida Statutes (F.S.), Title XXXII (Regulation of Professions and Occupations), Chapter 464 (Nursing), Part I (Nurse Practice Act) [includes multistate compact licensure].
