Triage RN or LPN

Effingham Obstetrics & Gynecology, a practice partner of Together Women's Health, is seeking afull-time Triage Nurse (RN or LPN)to join their growing team!This is an in-person, on-site position in Effingham, IL.As an experienced practitioner, the Triage Nurse is responsible for assessing patients, determining the severity of patients conditions, and prioritizing care based on the urgency of symptoms.Applicants with Athena EMR experience will be given priority.Performs telephone triage, patient education, handling of physician phone calls, pharmacy calls; may assist by calling to set up appointments or arrange hospital tests or admissionsCompletes paperwork such as refilling medication, ordering lab tests, x-rays, etc.Assessing patients and determining priority and referring for emergency careCounsels patients concerning lifestyle modifications, medication regimens, side effects, and interactions using an appropriate psychosocial communication levelCommunicates to patients and office coordinators follow-up appointments, ancillary and/or pre-operative testing and scheduling needed for patientCoordinates ordering of tests/procedures with other clinical staffRespond to patient questions and concerns as liaison between physician and patientDeveloping office protocols and training documentsReports all test results to the patient as directed by the physicianGraduate from an accredited school of nursing requiredState of Illinois Nursing License requiredBLS certification requiredAt least one year of working experience as anurse equiredAthena EMR experience highly preferredOB/GYN experience preferred, but not requiredWhy Together Women’s Health (TWH)?Because we do things a bit differently here.
