Technician

Job Title: Heavy Equipment Technician Job Description As a Heavy Equipment Technician, you will ensure the quality and functionality of welding equipment before shipment. Your role will include installing wiring and conduit into containers, performing basic troubleshooting to identify issues with welding equipment, and utilizing overhead cranes and forklifts to move materials throughout the facility. You will also be responsible for installing new components, testing machines, repairing power panels, transformers, electric fans, power cords, and assembling, repairing, and FCAW welding machinery. Responsibilities + Perform quality checks on welding equipment to ensure proper functionality before shipment. + Install wiring and conduit into containers and welding machines as required. + Conduct basic troubleshooting to determine why welding equipment may not be working. + Operate overhead cranes and forklifts to move materials within the facility. + Install new components and test machines to ensure they weld properly. + Perform repair work on power panels, transformers, electric fans, and power cords. + Assemble, repair, and FCAW weld machinery. + Fix and repair equipment both in the shop and in shipping containers. + Read and interpret drawings. + Utilize hand and power tools effectively. Essential Skills + Basic mechanical experience + Experience with overhead cranes and forklifts. + Ability to read drawings and use hand and power tools. + Basic understanding of welding equipment. + Troubleshooting skills to diagnose equipment issues. + High School Diploma. + Ability to lift 50+ lbs. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Mechanical, electrical, and preventive maintenance expertise. + Assembly, inspection, and repair of welding equipment. Why Work Here? Work Environment The facility in Bourbonnais functions as a warehouse with approximately 30 employees and is expanding. Work occurs both indoors and outdoors due to the size of the equipment and materials. Employees must be prepared to work in varying temperatures and wear steel-toed boots, hard hats, and safety glasses. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bourbonnais, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
