We are seeking an empathetic and detail-oriented Intake Specialist to serve as the first point of contact for individuals seeking admission to our menu2019s drug and alcohol relapse prevention program.Reporting to the Program Manager, the Intake Specialist will conduct thorough assessments, coordinate services, and provide crisis support when needed. This role is essential in welcoming new clients, ensuring accurate enrollment, and connecting individualsu2014including veteransu2014to the care and resources they need to succeed. The Intake Specialist also represents Harbor Light at community meetings and events, advocating for clients and promoting our mission of hope and healing. Key Responsibilities u2022 Conduct screenings, assessments, and orientations for individuals seeking admission.u2022 Enter and maintain accurate client data in WellSky and HMIS databases.u2022 Maintain communication with case managers, probation officers, referral sources, and prospective clients.u2022 Coordinate with VA case managers to manage logistics and intake for veteran clients.u2022 Track and manage a list of prospective clients, making referrals to external resources when appropriate.u2022 Develop and maintain systems to monitor client enrollment, progress, and program outcomes under the direction of the Program Manager.u2022 Collaborate with funding agencies to meet intake, assessment, and reporting requirements; follow up to resolve enrollment issues.u2022 Prepare reports for contracts with the Department of Human Services and other funding entities.u2022 Attend staff meetings and collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team.u2022 Demonstrate respect for clients, colleagues, and the mission of The Salvation Army.u2022 May teach a class on life skills/relapse prevention if needed.u2022 Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Manager or Administrator. Education & Experienceu2022 High school diploma or GED required; some college coursework preferred.u2022 2-3 yearsu2019 experience in human services, social work, or substance abuse treatment strongly preferred.u2022 CAC I certification or peer coaching certification preferred.u2022 Experience working with individuals facing addiction, homelessness, or mental health challenges is highly desirable. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilitiesu2022 Strong data entry and organizational skills; familiarity with HMIS a plus.u2022 Understanding of addiction, recovery, and relapse prevention.u2022 Ability to administer and interpret UA and BA tests for male clients.u2022 Experience managing client records in a clinical or social service setting.u2022 Knowledge of government and agency grants, including SNAP enrollment requirements.u2022 Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate with professionalism and empathy.u2022 Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.u2022 Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.u2022 Respect for individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences. Driving + Valid driveru2019s license required. + A minimum age of 21 (for insurance provision) and possession of a valid in-state driveru2019s license is required. + An MVR will be processed every year in accordance with The Salvation Armyu2019s policies.
