Registered Nurse- Surgery Clinic- Urology

Summary The Surgery Clinic registered nurse is responsible for providing competent, evidence-based specialty care to assigned patients. This nurse provides patient care, care coordination, health promotion, health education and coaching on wellness, disease prevention, and chronic care management. The nurse will assist in directing the provision of nursing education, orientation, competencies and providing quality improvement and outcomes utilization. Responsibilities Major duties will include, but are not limited to, the following: Position to float to the various clinics located within the Surgical Specialty Clinic. Staff could possibly float to multiple areas during the day. Assist in the patient intake process, vitals, rooming, etc. Clinics include new, follow-up, and procedures. Reviews patient appointment list identifying past medical history, medications, allergies, and other information necessary to provide safe and excellent care. Communicates any changes in clinics to MSA and Case Manager. Returns Message Manager and Secure Messaging within the guidelines. Assist providers during procedures (non-sedation procedures). Provides patient education, pre and post procedure. Transports patients to other areas such as pharmacy, ED, etc. Stocks and assesses areas for outdated supplies. ACLS required after accepting the position.
