Summary The Nursing Assistant (NA) should possess skills to participate in assessing, implementing, and evaluating nursing care by the following listed below, however, these responsibilities will be completed under close supervision at all times as well as with appropriate training. The NA in this role provides care under close supervision and refers issues/questions to supervisors, higher graded NAs, or other healthcare professionals. Responsibilities The Nursing Assistant (NA) - Domiciliary will develop skills in order to participate in assessing, implementing, and evaluating nursing care. Responsibilities will be completed under close supervision at all times as well as with appropriate training. Duties include, but are not limited to: Possesses ability to make observations of subtle changes in residents' condition (i.e. behavior shifts, mood, skin coloring, appetite, etc.) and acts accordingly within the NA's assigned role. He/she responds appropriately to subtle patient changes by contacting the appropriate nursing personnel. Assists patient/resident with daily like skills such as: Personal Hygiene, Physical Comfort, Activity, Exercise, Rest, Nutrition, Elimination, Prevention of Skin Breakdown, Rehabilitative Aspects of Care. Organizes and obtains routine supplies and equipment. Enters information about the residents' condition in the chart, utilizing appropriate formats. Aids in Domiciliary patient room inspection, safety lock-down inspections. Performs other duties as assigned. Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).
