General Laborer

Position Overview We are seeking a reliable Construction General Laborer to support the installation of retaining walls at a project in Portland. This role involves handsu2011on site work, material handling, excavation support, and assisting skilled trades in building structural retaining wall systems. Key Responsibilities + Assist with retaining wall construction , including site prep, excavation support, backfilling, and compaction. + Load, unload, and move block materials , geogrid, gravel, and tools around the job site. + Operate basic construction equipment (wheelbarrows, plate compactors, tampers, shovels, levels). + Help prepare subgrade, spread and compact base materials, and support wall layout tasks. + Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. + Follow direction from foremen and install crews to ensure highu2011quality, efficient wall construction. + Assist with drainage pipe placement and other related tasks as needed. + Follow all OSHA and siteu2011specific safety guidelines , including PPE requirements. Requirements + Previous construction or landscaping labor experience preferred (retaining wall experience a plus). + Ability to lift 50u201375 lbs repeatedly throughout the day. + Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions. + Reliable transportation to the project site. + Strong work ethic, punctuality, and willingness to learn. + Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions. Preferred Qualifications + Experience working with retaining wall block systems, geogrid, or sitework. + Familiarity with compaction equipment and basic layout tools. + OSHA 10 certification.
